Looks like WABC is airing Jeopardy! on a one-day delay, as they showed Match 3, Game 1.
EDIT: They are doing the same for Wheel. They are airing the October 1, 2018 episode tonight.

Looks like WABC is airing Jeopardy! on a one-day delay, as they showed Match 3, Game 1. Yeah, they made a post on their social media announcing J! would be delayed last night. Of course, since everyone on social media can only care about J! these days, WABC couldn't be bothered to make an equivalent announcement about Wheel. I mean, I get that it doesn't really matter if it's delayed or not with no continuity on Wheel, but if they were going to do to Wheel what they're doing to Jeopardy!, they could at least mention it. I seriously think there's some kind of movement or clause in stations' contract to give J! only equal or greater promo than Wheel. 90% of the time when a station or local media outlet acknowledges a pre-emption affecting both shows, they'll put most or all of the focus on J!; never mind the double standard that J! almost-never gets pre-empted without Wheel. But yes, Wheel is delayed by a day as well. The listings have not been updated to account for this for either show.  Two airings of Wheel are scheduled for Saturday, at 1:00 PM and the usual 7:30 PM. Since the listings for the episodes are no longer accurate, it is unknown which airing will be the "Friday" episode (10/05/18, a $100K loss) and which will be the "Saturday" episode (09/13/18, a $45K win). |

October 5, 2018 was actually a Flex loss, but I think 1 PM will be the Saturday rerun and 7:30 PM will be Friday's episode. You would be correct. The rerun from Teacher's Week did begin airing at 1:00 PM, still listed as the Shopping Spree Monday episode. However, it got interrupted for a coronavirus press conference from New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy during yellow contestant Jodi's interview. This means Shopping Spree's Friday episode will air at 7:30 PM tonight, but listed as Teacher's Week. EDIT: The Teacher's Week rerun returned during the break before the Bonus Round. |

WIVT - BINGHAMTON, NEW YORKLike last time, Tuesday's Wheel will air Wednesday at 5:00 PM Eastern. Wheel is still listed at its regular time on WETM Elmira, and is still listed on both WIVB and WNLO in Buffalo. WCBD - CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINAWCBD will also be carrying the South Carolina Town Hall. Wheel will air at 12:35 AM Eastern, though it is still listed as Late Night with Seth Meyers, with Wheel still listed at 7:00.
Good old Jeopardy! bias. Happens way too often. A station pre-empts both game shows, but local articles acknowledging it put 90% of the focus on Jeopardy! while Wheel is only mentioned once in passing. This article regarding the WIVB Buffalo pre-emptions makes it pretty obvious that Buffalo doesn't care about Wheel; they couldn't even bother to put Wheel in the headline! buffalonews.com/2020/05/19/jeopardy-is-safe-tonight-on-wnlo-as-town-hall-airs-on-wivb/At least the acknowledgements from WBTW, WCBD, and WTEN give both shows perfectly equal exposure, which is how everyone should do it. |

Nice going, Orlando...   For what it's worth, they originally had Tuesday's Wheel scheduled early at 3:30 PM, but most listings reverted the time slot to Judge Jerry, though Wheel is still listed at 3:30 on WFTV's website. More and more stations are showing Jeopardy! bias every year. WFTV never puts Wheel at 7:00 when they show specials at 7:30, and I bet they wouldn't do so even if J! was a repeat. |
