^ I'd set a recording for 2:37 AM (repeat of 11:00 news) and 3:07 AM (infomercial) just in case. If they moved it overnight a couple weeks ago, no reason they can't this time. I tried Emailing and calling them asking if it would air but got no answer.

No! My WBRE is not airing the S37 finale!! I tried Emailing and calling them asking if it would air but got no answer. WBRE got back to me this morning. You'll be glad to hear this! The listings haven't updated, so you'll need to DVR Friday's episode to get Thursday's, Saturday's rerun to get Friday's, and the 2:30 and 3:00 AM infomercials for Saturday's.
That now makes eight NBC affiliates that are showing Thursday's episode in the regular time slot on Friday.

The kickoff game ran over a bit because of postgame. NBC didn't sign off until 11:32 PM Eastern.
Three stations scheduled Wheel immediately after the game: KNVN in Chico, CA, KYMA in Yuma, AZ, and KKCO in Grand Junction, CO. KNVN started Wheel from the beginning at around 8:36 PM Pacific. The latter two stations cut off the beginning of the show, as they were both wrapping up R1 at the same time KNVN started the show.

The following stations aired Thursday's episode in the usual time slot on Friday: - WBBH - Fort Myers, FL (they also ran a crawl during Wednesday's episode alerting viewers of the delay)
- WTWO - Terre Haute, IN

- WKTV - Utica, NY
- WBRE - Wilkes-Barre, PA
- WEAU - Eau Claire, WI
Two other stations, WCNC in Charlotte, NC and KTEN in Sherman, TX, both told me that Wheel would air on a one-day delay on Friday and Saturday, but they aired Friday's episode on Friday and skipped Thursday's episode. WCNC always delayed the Thu-Fri eps to Fri-Sat back when NBC carried Thursday Night Football regularly.
WHO in Des Moines caught up by airing Thursday's episode on Friday afternoon at 3:00, replacing the older of two Jeopardy! runs. One local Jeopardy! fan was not happy about this... (I say be grateful that you normally get two J!'s on a daily basis, while Wheel is forever stuck with just one when GSN isn't running it)

WVIR aired Thursday's episode on Saturday. Despite this, Jeopardy! was still the Saturday rerun.  I also got to give thanks to the several NBC stations who made up Thursday's episode as a direct result of me reaching out to them. Seems a lot of them weren't aware Wheel scheduled a new episode for that day. It was nice not to see as much "Sorry, we can't do anything about it" as I had expected. I just wish I didn't have to do Wheel's job for them (and not get paid for it  ). Please hire me, CBS TVD. |

So, now that this wacky season is over, here is how things stack up in the end. These are all the stations that pre-empted Wheel for local reasons at least five times on a weekday during the 53 weeks of Season 37. It's no surprise who the two top offenders are, with their weekly NFL programs in Wheel's slot for most of the season. Boston pre-empted Wheel every week and a half on average. The longest gap WBZ went without pre-empting Wheel on a weekday was a mere seven weeks, between 1/21-3/13. Nashville did not pre-empt Wheel at all after 6/4, and that was from an unplanned severe weather broadcast. Reasons that are not counted here include national affairs like Thursday Night Football (however, local carriage of NFL games like Monday Night Football are counted), national mandatory breaking news like the impeachment, and other national sporting events like Christmas NBA, NASCAR, and last Thursday's NFL Kickoff. However, local programming decisions made as a result of national events that negatively affected Wheel (such as replacing it with Jeopardy! when a sporting or political event runs long) are counted here.
