I received my audition invitation! In addition to looking for "regular" contestants, there is an option to bring my husband for a "married couples" show.
My question is this: What gets me the best odds of getting on the show? Do more people show up for fewer "couples" shows? Or do fewer people show up as couples and maybe that's the better chance of getting on?
I realize it's a long shot even with an audition. My husband and I usually play well together. But he doesn't want to hurt my chances as he thinks I'm the better player.
Thanks in advance for any advice, especially if you've been to an audition and had to choose whether to go solo or with a partner.

Go as a couple:
1) They audition you both as a couple and as an individual. If your husband has a bad audition they'll still consider you as an individual. 2) In my audition they were looking for teams as well as individual. Of the about 70 contestants that showed up for my audition, it seemed only 3 people brought their +1 for the team audition. I was told that it was pretty common that not many people bring a teammate when they ask for them. 3) My teammate and I didn't do all that well on the written test, yet we made it as contestants. I think if I only tried to go as an individual, I may not have made it.
