"RSTON E" I wish we had more Bonus Rounds with Susan. I love how she really starts motioning to help them and saying things like, "C'mon, try."

Oh you damn well better believe I downloaded this. It's "Bonus Week", where the prizes players can choose from in the Bonus Round are marked with gold stars. As...opposed to all the times they weren't? Mike is back for his second day with $1,300, a pretty low total at this point. Unfortunately there's no intro or credits, but it otherwise seems to be complete. Also, yay original commercials! In any case, Merielen's a fun player and I hope she's done well for herself in the years since. She's also the "Mom" mentioned in the original video title, so if Michael's lurking around, big thanks for sharing this. [EDIT: The title's been changed from "Mom Wheel of Fortune" to "Daytime - Wheel of Fortune 1982 - Merielen Perrone Champion".] Puzzles: Phrase: EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER Phrase: STRIKE IT RICH Person: JOHN DENVER Person: STOOL PIGEON (goes to Speed-Up) *Bonus Round* Phrase: DOWN-TO-EARTH As for the outcome... Merielen comes back with $5,450, having lost the Bonus Round (trip to Jamaica, no given value). Even so, she's the earliest known player to have called RSTLNE.

Anyone else distracted by Susan's gesturing during the Bonus Round?

Wow, what a rare era for an episode to surface from! I’ll take it! And it comes exactly one year to the day that a rare 1972 Dennis James episode of TPIR surfaced.
It appears the Bonus Round was in its experimental stage longer than we thought...

Sherry/Merielen (Day 3 - $12,569)/Chris A player from Taiwan. That's new. Wow, that's a very obvious edit after Round 1. Would've been a bit less obvious if we didn't hear the contestant talking without moving their mouth. More original commercials! Post-Round 2 was...a bit odd. Jack Clark's cooped up in that small room as it is, don't confuse the poor guy! Solve cue kinda jumped the gun in Round 3, there... "Alright, here's the runner-up in the Jack Clark Soundalike Contest." -Pat That Bonus Round was......wow. I'm with Susan on this one. No fee plugs or credits here, either, but at least we got part of the intro. Puzzles: Things: SCOTCH AND SODA Phrase: WHIP THINGS INTO SHAPE Title: CHARIOTS OF FIRE Thing: TONGUE DEPRESSOR (begins as Speed-Up) *Bonus Round* Phrase: SLAPSTICK COMEDY And the outcome: Merielen wins the game, plays the Bonus Round for a Tiffany gift certificate (no value given), manages to pull out the solve with very few letters up, and retires with a total of $18,169 (which means the gift certificate was $1,600). Again, huge thanks to Michael for sharing these episodes.
