James and Brad's final responses tonight were hilarious 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. James wrote who is the greatest television host Alex Trebek. Accidentally wrote Pat Sajak then scratched it out. Brad wrote down Eagles Super Bowl LII champions. He risked 4133 which was the score of the game. That was so funny I did have a chuckle at James and Brad both goofing around in a Final Jeopardy! they knew they couldn't win. I will admit it was just a little awkward that the acronym for Greatest Host of Syndicated TV ends up being GHOST, given where things seem to be pointed with Alex, but a very entertaining finish overall. I loved his commentary about it becoming the Jeopardy! comedy hour, and Ken's "tight five minutes about airline food" one-liner was just perfect.

just in – Ken Jennings won the GOAT tournament and the $1M top prize. And I have mixed emotions. I'm happy that Ken finally won a tournament after losing to Brad in the 2005 UToC and the 2014 Battle of the Decades tournament. However, I'm a bit sad that James lost, especially once he missed FJ! and bet it all after making a comeback in the second game of tonight's match.
Now that GOAT wrapped up, I'm hoping James and Brad will be brought back for another special tournament soon, perhaps a $500,000 Masters Tournament and it's in the regular syndicated version instead of in primetime; and the two compete with 13 or 6 other big time champions whose appearances occurred between Ken's run and the 2019 ToC.
Possible participants (if the tournament is only the semifinals and finals):
- James Holzhauer - Brad Rutter - David Madden - Julia Collins - Austin Rogers - Matt Jackson - Arthur Chu - Pam Mueller - Alex Jacob
or if there are 15 participants (quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals)
- James Holzhauer - Brad Rutter - Alex Jacob - Ben Ingram - Buzzy Cohen - Colby Burnett - Matt Jackson - Pam Mueller - David Madden - Larissa Kelly - Colby Burnett - Roger Craig - Tom Nissley - Dan Pawson - Arthur Chu

Not counting the IBM tournament, well...it had to happen eventually. Couldn't keep a perfect record forever, Brad.

Given the fact that Ken Jennings has FINALLY won a tournament...
...and given the fact that Brad's unbeaten run in tournaments has now ended after 20 years...
...I am going to publicly advocate that it's time for Brad Rutter to retire from Jeopardy!, and to no longer accept further invitations to be on the show again.
Brad's done his part for Jeopardy!'s legacy, and he really doesn't need to do anything more for the show.
To me, the part that represented Brad's downfall in this tournament was the fact that both James Holzhauer and Ken kept hammering those signaling devices, beating Brad to the punch, and beating him hard in that part of the game. This time, Brad no longer had an answer.
In terms of James, though he might've turned a bit into what those who are fans of pro wrestling refer to as a 'heel', or 'bad guy' in the former fan parlance, he has not been selfish when it comes to his cash or time on the show, and the fact he's helped out a lot of people has won my respect for him. Viva La Holzhauer!
But we all know that it's about 'The Champ', Ken Jennings. After falling in so many tournaments since May 2005, Ken has finally in the place I felt he should've been in after the Ultimate Tournament of Champions...on the throne as the King of Jeopardy!.
Thank you Ken. Thank you Brad. Thank you James.
And also, a BIG thank you to Alex Trebek here. With what he's had to endure now for the last little while, I'm insanely happy that he got to do what he does better than anyone else in the game show world on primetime network television....host the most challenging game show there is in the world. I do give a bit of a prayer to him that he keeps on fighting, does not give up, and keeps us at home entertained and enlightened for many more years. VIVA LA ALEX!
All in all, the Jeopardy! G.O.A.T. tournament lived up to it's name.
=)

In fact, I wonder how he would do against Alex Jacob, or any of the other alumni I mentioned.

I had a gut feeling Ken would take home the title, since I consider him the original GOAT. But everyone did great, including Brad (I just think he was pretty nervous).

Glad it’s over. I didn’t watch any of it, but if I had to root for any of the three, it would be Ken. Also means no more constant promos for it during Wheel and the local news, and no more “ugghh i hate having to watch stupid wheel of fortune before #jeopardygoat” tweets from elitists.
Now hopefully this sudden Jeopardy! craze of the past year will die down and people will remember the other game show again. If Merv Griffin were still alive today, he would never have let Wheel be neglected for this long.

If Merv Griffin were still alive today, he would never have let Wheel be neglected for this long. Wasn't Wheel of Fortune Merv's baby? IIRC, Merv focused more on Wheel than Jeopardy. If he was still alive, he still would've neglected Jeopardy, even with all the publicity it's gotten with James, Ken, and Brad. At least Wheel's been more active on social media than in previous years so that's a start.Let's face it MarioGS, unless Mike Richards can pull a rabbit out of his hat and restore Wheel to it's glory days, it will remain behind Jeopardy for a long time.

I used to not like Brad since 2005 after Ken was beaten in his first tournament match, but since the All Star Games, I have had a lot more respect for the biggest money winner himself and was fortunate enough to have met him in person, let alone interact with him for a brief time. I felt bad for him during the match up because I was hoping he would win match four and see if Ken could pull it off in match five, but at the same time, I have never felt so happy to see Ken finally win his first tournament as he was the first champion I met in person and interact with via e-mail.
As a child, I had no idea who Brad was until the Ultimate Tournament Of Champions, which was why I always favored Ken because he was someone I looked up to when he began his winning streak in 2004. In short, congratulations to my friend and idol, Ken Jennings!

Not that I'm being overly mean, but this event was so special to me, that I had to cover it on my Instagram. But I'll still prefer Wheel over Jeopardy.
