Due to at least three weeks' worth of tapings being cancelled last month after Pat's medical emergency, Wheel's airing schedule has caught up to them, with no episodes taped in time for Christmas week. This week was originally slated to be themed "On Holiday" and was to be taped on November 21. Because of the lack of tapings, reruns from Season 36's Home for the Holidays week (originally aired December 24-28, 2018) will air the week of December 23-27. This is according to listings on Xfinity. This is the first time since Season 15 that Wheel will have a week of mid-season reruns. - Tuesday is the only Bonus Round win of the week. Friday's is the infamous ZUCCHINI MUFFIN.
- Tuesday's episode was originally pre-empted on all ABC affiliates. Those who archive episodes may want to take this opportunity to catch up with it.
- Tuesday's episode has a category strip error during TU2 that may or may not be fixed for the rerun.
- Wednesday's closing features a replay of Vanna's famous gift box incident.
- Since Jeopardy! is obviously not affected by all of this, that show will have new episodes for the week. |

Either way, I assume Harry is lazy to hire a substitute for Vanna. He doesn't need to. The board can operate itself. If they absolutely need a human, contestant coordinator Shannon Bobillo does the letters during rehearsal games. I'm sure there are plenty of people in the studio, male and female, who would do anything to be in Vanna's position for a day. |

Christmas week isn't the only week short on new episodes. The second America's Game week does not yet have an episode for Friday, January 3. The first week's episodes were obviously from the first five taping days of Season 37, but after that... Taping 6: Let's Eat! sixth episode airs Wednesday 1/1 Taping 7: Home Sweet Home likely did not tape a sixth episode; promotional weeks generally do not Taping 8: Bed & Breakfast sixth episode airs Tuesday 12/31 Taping 9: Veterans Week did not tape a sixth episode Taping 10: Great American Cities sixth episode (saluting DC) airs Monday 12/30 Taping 11: Shopping Spree sixth episode airs Thursday 1/2 Taping 12: Safe Travels did not tape a sixth episode according to RoonilWazlib who taped that week Tapings 13-14: Disney Secret Santa sans-Pat obviously only taped five shows per day It is not yet known if there were hush-hush tapings on November 22 or not. The January 3 episode will either need to be taped this Thursday or Friday, or they will need to place another rerun that day. |

Would be fun if they would rerun last year’s Secret Santa games sometime, but then they would have to edit out the winning spin ID’s. maybe on a Saturday rerun. Otherwise my show will probably never rerun. Unless GSN runs them again.

Harry is really getting challenged this last year of his tenure!
This is a tough spot. I understand not wanting to tape another week missing Pat because there's not really a clean solution like Minnie to step in, and I'm sure they're already going to get inundated with well-wishers that don't understand tape delay when that week airs.
But by throwing in S36 episodes they open themselves up to more questions about people thinking they are new episodes. Why did the bonus wheel minimum amount drop? Where's the Triple Toss Up? It's not the same as the Saturday episodes where people are used to seeing something from the last season.
I think what I would do is play up the fact the episodes are older instead of trying to hide it - call it Retro Week, add some Vanna voiceovers, and choose shows from like 10 seasons ago. Nothing from before 2006 because it won't be in HD.
That way you still get the delay and can play some really great episodes around the holidays. Seems like a win/win to me.

Have him do his announce copy over there too if you want. Having that as a contingency plan for Pat or Vanna would've prevented the taping cancellations, and the fact they don't have a contingency plan at all for them or Alex is, to me, shameful - and cancelled tapings penalize the contestants more than anybody else. I personally think Harry would be too lazy to try to dig up archives to be able to do a retro week. Well, that and the whole "paying royalties" thing... |

Secret Santa episodes do not rerun in syndication because the SPIN ID's can't be cleanly edited out like they can when the Mystery $10K is won. GSN did rerun them when they had Seasons 30-31 until recently, but those episodes were very poorly edited. Here's one of those episodes. and cancelled tapings penalize the contestants more than anybody else. I know for a fact that Wheel reimbursed the contestants set to tape on 11/21 for On Holiday week for any expenses lost in needing to cancel travel reservations. Hopefully they assisted in paying an extra hotel night for contestants who were supposed to tape for the first Secret Santa week on 11/7 and planned to fly home the next day, and especially the contestants for the second week who were presumably supposed to tape Friday but got bumped to the following Monday. |

MarioGS - Looking at your picture again, it's entirely possible Xfinity's listings of "S36" on December 23 are typos. Note that the numbering goes from "S37 Ep75" on December 20 to "S36 Ep76" on the 23rd, and that the latter directly follows an S36 listing from a weekend repeat.

^ Home for the Holidays week in Season 36 was also episodes 76-80 of that season. Also, if it were a new episode, it would have the "NEW" indicator seen with episode 75, and the week was originally slated to be "On Holiday". It's not a typo. And as of today, S36 E77 (the Christmas Day 2018 episode) is listed for Tuesday 12/24.
