I am really surprised at the number of people on social media being hard on Vanna for how she did, some going as far to say that she looked like Rolf in Pat's place. I think she did great! For someone who has only operated the puzzle board for 37 years, only spun the Wheel a handful of times and never carried the show on her own, nerves were to be expected. I thought the final spin goof was funny and cute, and how she connected with Raychel in the bonus round and was almost crying before she even solved the puzzle. Now, the whole Minnie and "Disney Magic" at the puzzleboard - very gimmicky. They're not hiding the fact that the board can operate on its own (yeah, we've known it has been able to for years). What really shocked me the handful of people on Facebook who thought that adding $1000 to whatever was landed on in the Final Spin was something new...seriously? It's been done for the last 20 years, how could you not notice? Oh, and the other funny comment of how it's just been this season that Vanna only has to touch one letter for the toss-up puzzles for the rest of them to start filling in on their own. Have you been living under a rock since 2000 or something?  |

Wheel's Instagram story implies that Luke and Chris' SPIN ID holders have claimed their respective winnings, but Raychel's has not.

I think Vanna did great for such short notice & all. I would not want someone to compare me my first week on a new job with someone who’s done it for 37 years! Just saying. And he wasn’t even there to train her! There is a lot to do in his spot: interview, watch the Wheel, watch the scores, watch how many of each letter, look at the judges if needed, etc.
Will be interesting to see next week since they were taped before this week’s shows. Also whether most or all of the contestants this week are local.

I loved that they didn't edit out Vanna thinking she spun to the Bankrupt wedge! I thought it was cute that they showed her laughing about the mistake.
I had also just been thinking earlier in the episode that I wondered how many contestants have cried when they won, because I couldn't remember any recently, and then it happened this episode!
I'm guessing there will be some exciting wins next week if those episodes were taped first but are being aired second, maybe?

They generally don't arrange episodes to strategically place wins first or last, although I'm sure they put an easier puzzle on Monday on purpose because they knew many more people would be watching for Vanna. The weeks are airing in reverse tape order because the taping for this first week was postponed but the second week's tapings were done as scheduled. |

For Vanna’s first hosting day, this episode was pretty decent.
Raychel did a great job overtaking Luke, but he would’ve won had he not called a K and U in R3. As for Chris - why did she call an I in the Final Spin and solve for the minimum?
I got TU1 with just the R and the BR with RSTLNE. Tremendous letter-picking by Raychel! She seemed quite emotional towards the end. And Vanna did great.
But...why was Minnie just standing there? I know she can make magic Happen with her hands, but...oh. She’s wearing a mask.

So this was Vanna’s first true week of shows then? I thought I was told that they still taped the first week before the second week and are just showing them in opposite times, second week first (like everyone is saying, but with still taping the first scheduled tapings before the second week)? Idk maybe I’m confused...
