Just opened the e-mail inviting me to a final audition in Little Rock on Jan. 14th, 2020. I am ecstatic right now! This site has been a tremendous resource thus far, and I look forward to reading more of your stories and advice.

Good luck. Arrive early, sit up front, talk loudly. Do EXACTLY what the contestant coordinators tell you. Be enthusiastic for everyone, totally engaged. Have a blast.

Couldn't have said any of this better. Above all, they need to see that you'll be able to do what they say and what they need on TV, which is to give them a good show.

Just finished my final audition in Little Rock and wanted to jot a few notes while it was fresh on my mind. Jackie, Shannon, Teddy, and Kenny were our team of coordinators.
First of all, the pace was tremendously fast. There was no room for delay. You needed to know your letter when they called your name, otherwise get buzzed. During the first round of games, my name was called, and I knew the puzzle. However, I wanted them to hear me call a few letters, to make an accurate judgment on me. I called a "P" (there were 2), but for some reason, a "B" came out, and by the time I had corrected myself, they moved to the next contestant. Internally, I was crushed, because I had spent so much time preparing for this moment. Externally, I continued to enthusiastically cheer from my front-row chair (I was the 2nd person to arrive).
During the next round, I clearly called 3 good letters, followed by a bad letter. I knew I had enunciated well and spoken loudly.
The written test was more challenging than expected. The puzzles weren't extremely difficult, I just couldn't write everything with a pencil in a 5 minutes that seemed to elapse in a matter of seconds. I believe I solved about 11 correctly, with some partial credit.
Because of my "P" "B" fumble, I was honestly hoping I'd be asked to stay for the final round. I was glad when they did indeed call my name to stay. During that round, I called a few good letters, followed by a bad letter. I strongly believe I nailed my "Pat Chat." I spoke about my job, family, and the fact that I was formerly a kayaking guide through shark-infested waters. It was when I said those words that Jackie marked my name with a green marker. I have no idea what that means, but I don't think it's bad. She and Teddy were impressed with my response and asked me to divulge more about kayaking with sharks.
I had so much fun, despite my initial mistake. I never solved a puzzle, but I did speak loud and clear. Jackie and Shannon both complimented my speaking.
There were at least two contestants asked to leave during the first cut, and I'm positive they will make the show. I honestly don't know where I stand with my chances. Hopefully the green marker is a very good sign. I think I only saw it for one other person.
I hope this helps others who desire to audition. Get out there and apply. It's a fun process regardless.

Sounds like you did awesome!! Hope you see that coveted letter in a few weeks!! Thank you for the encouragement. My hope was to come away with a clear idea of where I stand. I honestly don't know my status at this point. I am grateful to have been given a second look. I just hope I did enough with that opportunity to get the letter.

It sounds like you recovered from your fumble, which is another good thing. Fingers crossed for you!

Dang, I thought I rocked my audition but I sure as heck wasn’t dialed in enough to pay attention to marker colors...
All in all, sounds like you did well. Best of luck and hopefully you’ll have something good in your mail in a couple weeks.
