Despite a Bonus Round win, Weekend Getaways sure was a rough week, with low main game wins and tough Bonus Round puzzles all throughout the week. Our Weekend Getaways contestants only took home $173,800 collectively, this week, and also have set a record low in winnings for this season. Our only highlights this week were Thursday's Bonus Round win, and Vanna once again doing a great job filling in for Pat while he was away. We also must give recognition to Maggie Sajak, who did a wonderful job filling in for Vanna throughout the week. Excellent work holding down the Wheel of Fortune fort, this week, ladies!
Next week is Great Escapes Week, and this will be our first full week of episodes that were taped when Pat came back after recovering from his surgery. We've had variations of this week throughout Wheel of Fortune's history, such as a sweepstakes week in Season 34, and these kinds of weeks usually end up with lukewarm results. With the way things have been going, lately, this week could end up doing well, or not quite as well. We shall wait and see, I guess.
