Does anyobdy here know exactly when the bonuses for the trivia categories increased? I'm pretty sure it went from $500 to $2000 to $3000, but in some cases, there was a bonus of $1000 in early uses of the Slogan category and as a bonus for konwing the source of a Quotation puzzle in a 1995 episode. Was $1000 ever the set amount for bonuses before it increased to $2000?

They started at $500. It looks like they were at $1,000 in season 13 (1995-1996), $2,000 in season 14 (1996-97) and $3,000 in season 17 (1999-2000). Also, in season 13, they were no longer offered to all three contestants, only the one that solved.
Clue, being the first such category, was also used on the Goen version. There, it offered $250 for answering the Clue.
Quotation and the "decade" categories (e.g. The 20's) had the $1,000 bonuses from the 1992-93 season until some point in 1995; after solving a decade puzzle, Charlie would ask the contestant a trivia quetsion related to the puzzle. I think Red-Letter puzzles existed from 1993 to 1995, and they were also worth $1,000 all along.
