If there's anything good that is coming from this pandemic, it appears more people are cleaning out attics and garages and finding these old tapes!

Gary (Day 3 - $8,850)/Virginia/Jan Fictional Character s, wasn't expecting that. Is...is that a rickshaw on the first prize platform? Who the crap would buy that, especially for $1,100?! Aaaaaand Chuck points out that yes it's a rickshaw, "it's been here for five-and-a-half years", and goes on to insult it as being only useful to display other prizes on. Original commercials! (Though, sadly, no local ads or anything else pointing to which station this came from.) Have we seen a $420 pricetag before? The end of Round 3 was...a thing. Eesh. Hey, a Ticket Plug! Puzzles ("/" denotes line break): Fictional Characters: MUTT / AND / JEFF Thing: PEACOCK / FEATHER Landmark: TOMB OF THE / UNKNOWN / SOLDIER Phrase: ROOM TO / BREATHE (goes to Speed-Up after a mid-round break) And the outcome: Gary retires undefeated with a total of $16,800. Regarding the airdate...I'm pretty sure it's wrong. Chuck's comments in the last segment do indicate this is a Friday, and the copyright date is indeed 1980, but per the primetime TV listings on Ultimate 70s the closing voiceover (plugging tonight's The Rockford Files and A Man Called Sloane and Sunday's airing of Animals Are Beautiful People) does not line up with the listed airdate of May 2, 1980. Indeed, the first time the '80 listings show Rockford and Sloane airing together on a Friday is June 13, with the documentary not airing until July 13. The fact the July 11 Rockford blurb matches the voiceover plug means the airdate is in fact July 11, 1980.

So many late 70s and early 80s episodes keep popping up! This is awesome! If this keeps up, I wonder if we will finally see Susan's final episode come out of the woodwork? Maybe even episodes with Vicki McCarty, Summer, or Vanna during their tryouts. I'd like to see some more of Vanna's first week, too. Maybe episodes in '83 before they changed the music package.
