Regis Philbin, former host of Live with Regis and Kathie Lee and the original primetime version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? has died yesterday from natural causes. He also appeared on the first celebrity episode of Jeopardy!, which reruns this Monday. |

That's sad. He is known for a hilarious blooper on Wheel from back in January 2010. If they don't pull that episode on Monday I expect a tribute about him to be put in

Just saw the news, sad for his family & all of us. I never aspired to be on another show besides Wheel because it was always my favorite, but would have loved to meet him

Even though I'd heard of Regis & Kathie Lee before that point, Millionaire is what introduced me to him. To me, he was the only host of Millionaire. Meredith Viera was fine, and Jimmy Kimmel wasn't awful (I haven't seen the other versions) but nobody could top Regis. I still remember watching John Carpenter win the million. I was at my grandma's house and my whole family was watching it. Such a sad loss.

He also appeared on the first celebrity episode of Jeopardy!, which reruns this Monday. Just caught the beginning of today's J! on WAKA in Alabama, the first known station to air first-run J! during the day (Wheel airs a whopping nine hours later). This appeared after Alex's intro before the episode began.  |
