Was this the debut of the Puzzler? I always thought that was exclusive to S17. Also interesting that the Jackpot Round sponsor was a Family Feud handheld game. Those are two game shows you don't normally pair together.
Did anyone else notice Cowboy "shoot" the Bankrupt space?
Pat's dig at Jeopardy! was pretty funny.

Pat's dig at Jeopardy! was pretty funny. Yes this was the debut of the Puzzler...very odd that they would choose to do it on the season finale but it did however continue in Season 16 and 17.

It's a rare event when the third place player finishes with more than what they won on their first day. In addition to being the last ever Friday Finals, this is also the final episode prior to the debut of the video wall. By this point, the Surprise wedge has been retired since there's a second prize in R3. Great to see the $10,000 Jackpot go out with a bang, and Pat actually caring about Harry on the Puzzler. The Triple Toss Up does acknowledge the Puzzler in some way with the bonds between puzzles and that's probably its best feature.
I'm surprised that the Evaluation Series doesn't have "Bonus Categories" or "Surprise Wedge" threads, with the Puzzler perhaps a division of the former.

It's crazy that this episode from 1998 paid out roughly double what is usually given away on most episodes in 2020. We haven't even had a game with all five-digit winners since March 2019 (College Week's Friday show), with those final totals all a few thousand better than these. The Triple Toss Up does acknowledge the Puzzler in some way with the bonds between puzzles and that's probably its best feature. True, but the bond is never explicitly acknowledged on the show. It's a hidden rule that, fortunately, the contestants usually catch on to much more quickly than other things like the $1,000 Toss-Up always being themed.

I think there was a 5-figure game in September (during Spa Getaway) and October 2019 (Let’s Eat!).
