Hey folks, hope you're all having a great summer... or at least a decent one given the current situation. 2020 has been such a weird year...
It is with great regret that I announce that our Recap Guide of the past three years (and recent contestant) acwof has elected to step down effective the end of the season. As there are still seven unaired episodes, the season technically isn't over yet, and Ash fully intends to recap those shows, but when Season 38 rolls around, he will no longer be providing recaps.
I thank Ash for three years of service. He stepped in when nobody else would, and he did so admirably. Recapping 195 shows a year is no easy feat, and the attention to detail required to ensure complete accuracy is a skill many desire but not all have, but Ash made it look easy at times. We will miss his recaps and hope he sticks around to continue to contribute to discussions on the site going forward.
As such, we need a new Recap Guide! If you think you have the skills and ability to recap every first-run episode of Wheel of Fortune for us for Season 38 and beyond, perhaps you could be our next recapper! Before flooding my PM box with applications, please read the following requirements of the job:
-You must be an active member of Buy a Vowel Boards in good standing as of 08/11/2020. The ideal candidate will have been a member for at least a year, but exceptions can be made based on a user's contributions to the site and the community as a whole.
-You must be able to commit to recap 195+ first-run episodes every season. This is a nightly commitment... if you know in advance that you cannot meet this commitment, don't waste your time. We will provide resources to assist you with recaps if necessary. The ideal candidate will commit to doing at least two full seasons' worth of recaps; preferably more, but two at a minimum.
-You must be able to effectively and clearly communicate, and provide in detail a recap of the day's show. You don't have to use the same format our previous Recap Guides have used (I for one would prefer more graphics-intensive recaps), but whichever format you use must be clear and concise and easy to follow.
-Finally, the person chosen will have limited moderation rights in the recap section, including the ability to edit and delete posts. As such, we must be able to trust you to lead in a manner consistent with the values of this site and of the community.
If you meet all of the requirements and are interested in being our next Recap Guide, send me a PM expressing interest. If you've contributed recaps of old episodes to the site, please link me to at least one of them that you feel exhibits the quality that your first-run recaps would be; otherwise, I will send you a link to a random episode (that Sony hasn't pulled off Youtube at least) and have you recap it for me as an "audition" of sorts.
While the new season will (theoretically) not premiere until September, I'd like to have a new Recap Guide selected by the end of the month, to ensure a smooth transition and ensure no gaps in coverage.
