How to stream Wheel of Fortune on Locast

Live in a market where Wheel of Fortune airs at 7:30 but want to watch it at 7:00? Miss the show by just a hair and want to catch up on it without waiting for low-quality YouTube videos? Pre-empted in your market? With a special Google Chrome extension, you can use Locast to stream Wheel as it airs in over 30 different cities. This trick also works with Paramount+ (formerly CBS All Access) for most markets that air Wheel on CBS affiliates, but that is a paid service. Locast is totally free, though they do have occasional ads unless you donate.

I figure this method will be useful for days like Election Day where most markets won't air Wheel.

This will only work on computers with Google Chrome. It will not work on mobile devices, as there is no easy way to spoof your location.


Step 1:
On Google Chrome, install the Location Guard extension: chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/location-guard/cfohepagpmnodfdmjliccbbigdkfcgia?hl=en

You should see the emblem in the top-right corner of your window. If you don't, click the puzzle piece icon and it should be under there.




Step 2:
Go to locast.org and create a free account.


Step 3:
You will only need to do this once. Click the Location Guard emblem, then click the "set level" option on top. Choose "Used fixed location".



If the second option says "Resume Location Guard" instead of "Pause", click that as well.


Step 4:
Click Location Guard again and click "Options". You will be taken to a new tab.


Step 5:
On the left sidebar, click "Fixed Location".



A map will appear in the middle of the window. Move the map to your desired city, and click on or near it so that the blue marker appears.



I highly recommend Atlanta. It airs Wheel at 7:00 PM, and they rarely pre-empt. When they do, they move it to a sister station that can also be watched. The full list of markets is below.


Step 6:
Refresh Locast. It should now show whatever market you set the location to.




Step 7:
Find Wheel's listing on the TV guide, click it (or any show on the station), then click the orange "Watch Live" or "Watch Now" button. After a Locast ad plays, you should be seeing that local station live. Note that you can also turn closed captioning on and off like you would on any other online stream.
