The only bummer is that it's in black in white. Otherwise, a gem to see. Thank you for sharing!

Holy crap...it's this episode. I'd honestly forgotten about this one. To explain: way back in 2014, Bryce emailed me to say that a 1977 episode had possibly been located. It turned out this was indeed the case, it was held by William Silver (the Bill seen here), and so it was added to the History Wiki's "Daytime Episodes Known To Exist" page. Unfortunately, neither Bryce nor I had any real way to help William transfer the episode to a digital format, and I heard nothing about the subject afterward (though I saved the emails, which thanks to a search feature is the only reason I know it happened in 2014; I thought it'd been within the last 2-3 years). Okay, on to the game itself.
The interviews indicate that a champ retired yesterday. We now have the "have to solve the puzzle exactly as it says on the board" rule, alongside the monospaced category displays and the six-digit contestant readouts. The video's in B&W, but the Wheel wedges still come across as colorful, somehow. Wow, Round 2 was...wow. Bankrupt has its slide whistle!More of Sheldon's relatives - a $320 set of three ceramic Basset Hounds on the third prize platform. (What was it with Wheel and ceramic animals, usually dogs?) The eligibility disclaimer and Susan's wardrobe credit (Chuck doesn't get one here) use the same font as the sponsor list, rather than having the monospaced style. Huh. Puzzles ("/" denotes line break): Person: DON / MEREDITH Title: BUTCH CASSIDY / AND THE / SUNDANCE KID (has a mid-round break) Phrase: FOOD FOR / THOUGHT Thing: BRAZIL / NUTS (played for a gift certificate; goes to Speed-Up one turn in) And the outcome: Marty comes back tomorrow with $6,000. Overall, a very fun episode and still another example of all the reasons I love classic Wheel of Fortune. Big thanks to Bryce for uploading, and extra-huge thanks to William Silver for holding on to his off-air recording.

Only reason I heard about the subject was William emailing me out of the blue earlier this summer offering to screen-record it off his TV with his phone for me. In September he got it transferred to DVD, and after a reminder from me earlier this month (unbeknownst to me, I'd been corresponding with him via his alternate email address until that point), he finally got it sent out last week. Received it Monday, sent a rip of the DVD to Robert to try to fix the audio (the source DVD has tons of hiss, with actual show audio nearly nonexistent). He sent me his fixed-up file a few hours ago, I uploaded it tonight, and here we are.

I didn't even notice that one, but looking at the video again, yep, there it is on the Round 3 layout. Good eye! Also, given Bryce's post, big thanks for fixing up the audio. Only reason I heard about the subject was William emailing me out of the blue earlier this summer offering to screen-record it off his TV with his phone for me. In September he got it transferred to DVD, I'm guessing by "it", you mean his phone recording and not the tape itself?

It was because of an error on his friend's part (the one who transferred the tape for him) that the episode picks up at the player interviews.

I didn't even notice that one, but looking at the video again, yep, there it is on the Round 3 layout. Good eye! Not only that, but the 7 is completely off-model. It's in a different font that uses a flat bottom despite the other 7's still having the round bottom, and there's no serif on the top-left edge.

Sounds like vowels were not allowed in the Speed-Up at this time.

I didn't even notice that one, but looking at the video again, yep, there it is on the Round 3 layout. Good eye! Sorry for bumping this, but I was reading through your memories on the Wiki, Daniel. One of them caught my eye that I remembered reading before some years ago: This persons memory was correct over twenty years later! He even knew which round it was in. Just goes to show that some of the seemingly unlikely memories can be proven true. For 43 years after the original airing there was no record of $375 ever appearing on the Wheel outside of the pilots... and now there is.
