Hey, Happy Thanksgiving! I was looking at a episode of Wheel of Fortune from 87' and saw the Q in the puzzle "MASQUERADE PARTY" And I saw that someone said on here that Stymie Extra Bold Condensed may be it. Well to whomever said that, thank you because, I just found the Stymie Extra Bold Condensed Font and it is the exact same font as all of the letter tiles!

My opinion on this: it's a sin that no digital version of this font was ever made. The closest font to this that exists for modern use is Beton T Bold Condensed.
I believe Wheel later altered the Q to look more like an O with a line through it.

Had I shared the old puzzle board letter tiles before?

I remember seeing how that Q was styled in a 1989 episode (the same way as how you mentioned it), and I think I brought it up here at the Boards at some point too. Glad we finally know it for sure at long last. Thanks for the find.

Yep. That was the one I was talking about. I couldn't remember what the puzzle was, but I had a feeling it was Quotation.

I studied that the 74' - 81' puzzle board had a different font because, the N looked different. I'm assuming that Beton T Bold Condensed is the font for 74-81 board.

No, the font was always the same, despite the N not having a top-left serif for the first few years.

Question, when Wheel used to go shopping what was the font of the numbers on the price tags?
