Pat and Vanna spend some time at the puzzle board with what looks like the same "empty" puzzle, since everyone wonders how it works.
Vanna actually does have to touch it, but nothing happens unless it turns blue. She asks to "ding" the blank which is the rightmost A, but they "ding" the G instead so she has to walk and touch that one on the right side. Vanna also mentions that each space is an actual TV monitor turned sideways.
Pat asks to try one, so they "ding" the N. Pat tries touching the top and bottom, but nothing happens. He has to touch the right side. But really, it's not that hard.
