Can you solve this Preview Puzzle?
From Sony Pictures Studio, it's America's game! Southern California Week is almost over...
The answer to the above puzzle is MANICOTTI.
Today's contestants:
Denise Werchniak (?): Junior at Butler University studying elementary education, from Indianapolis, IN
Elene Freeman: Retired data processor, also a mother of four boys and grandmother; from Oceanside, CA
Steve Sebold: Graphic designer, from Lake Wylie, SC
Elene knows how to whistle through her teeth to get the attention of her boys, and she demonstrates to Pat, and he's curious what else she can do. She does a "toothpaste" by sticking out her tongue with fingers on her cheeks.
Steve seems a little crazy right now, and he might need the whistle treatment himself.
The top-dollar value on the Wheel is $1,000. The Big Money doesn't need to whistle! It has your attention. There's also that one other whistle that we could do without.
Denise solves OLYMPIA WASHINGTON. How about a little extra after a weird round? She must solve a $3,000 Puzzler...
Total silence. Even with 6 seconds, she does not solve APPLES.
Denise says THEY NIBBLED ON A GINGERGREAD HOME. The audience cheers but then stops, and Denise realizes her mistake.
Elene solves THEY NIBBLED ON A GINGERGREAD HOUSE. Maybe she can get us out of trouble with a $3,000 bonus by telling us who they are!
Elene reads what's on the board.
Not much time left, so Pat will give the Wheel a Final Spin. Consonants are worth $5,000 + $1,000 for $6,000 a piece! One more shot for Denise! Steve just can't stand still!
Denise: S (x2) ($12,000)
Elene: T (x3!) ($18,000)
Steve: R ($6,000)
Denise: H ($18,000)
Elene: L (DUD!)
Steve: N (x2) ($18,000) (He thinks the second word is STRONG.)
Denise: G ($24,000)
Elene: I ($18,000)
Steve: C!!! ($24,000)
Cover your ears! Steve solves THE STRING SECTION for a massive win! He says "You rock!" to Pat!
BONUS ROUND:
RSTLNE gives him:

Just for the record, he missed out on the Laguna & Miata, and he asks who even needs a Miata. Again, Steve is leaving with plenty of cash!
Pat and Vanna notes that this was a wacky show tonight. It puts Pat in the mood to untie his hair as he usually does off-camera. Looks like his hair is longer than you think!
