Perhaps the Ed/Charlie mistake becomes funnier after an earlier game.

The puzzle was AMERICAN BANDSTAND PREMIERES, and just for fun, Pat asked the contestant who Dick Clark's "announcer sidekick pal" was.

The contestant guessed Ed McMahon, and then Charlie laughed. Pat followed by asking "Ed" to introduce the Round 2 prize.

R1: Before you people Google where the heck that place is, it's actually in North San Diego County (but it's closer to the I-5 rather than the I-15).

BR: Got it off RSTLNE. The I was the better vowel choice here.
