I've got 2 more episodes to do from the San Diego Convention Center - both come from the third week in the S20 edition.
EPISODE #3886: COLLEGE WEEK FROM SAN DIEGO
Airdate: 5/12/03
The SDSU cheerleaders introduce the hosts this week. Also, the house band this week is the SDSU pep band.
Go!
Albert blows it with HIGHLIGHT THE BOOKS while Alicia rings in with HITTING THE BOOKS not a moment later.
Kicking off this week:
Alicia Kerry (USD): Albuquerque, NM. Junior who's studying psychology & pre-med. She also wanted to follow Vanna White's footsteps, but there's no major for that, unfortunately.
Albert Racinos (SDSU): Cathedral City, CA. In his fifth year studying communications. He's also part of New Alpha Cap Fraternity Incorporated.
Sarah Vanderhall (UCSD): Culver City, CA. Freshman who sings in the UCSD Dots (all girls group) and is also in a sorority named Tga Tau Gamma Alpha. Her mom was on this show in 1977 (Chuck Woolery) and won a trip to Vegas where she met her father. If it wasn't for this show, she wouldn't be alive today.
Maybe going to a Catholic college probably wasn't the best idea, Alicia.
Go!
Sarah solves RECYCLING CENTER.
GIFT TAG: BORDERS
That company's no longer in business.
Albert solves PHILOSPOHY PROFESSOR.
DUDS: C (Sarah), A (Alicia)
PRIZE ADDED TO WHEEL: Free Apple a Day plan from Gold's Gym (marked FITNESS) worth $4,850
JACKPOT ROUND
THIS WEEK'S SPONSOR: BrandSource
Albert solves "THE CANTERBURY TALES" for the house minimum. Pat notes that he's not much of a gambler.
DUD: I (Sarah)
BANKRUPTS: 4 (Albert & Alicia twice)
LEFT BEHIND IN POT: $8,700
This takes me back when I was a junior back in high school...
Tonight, a home viewer could win a 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis. All they have to do is to enter the bonus puzzle on either the site or by mail.
MYSTERY ROUND
BEHIND THE WEDGE: 2003 Ford Focus ZX3 Hatchback ($14,090)
Alicia solves THE MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS to claim the fitness package. At least we get to keep something!
DUD: G (Sarah)
BANKRUPT: Albert
Pat acknowledges Bryan Ransom, the assistant director of bands for the SDSU Pep Band and SDSU cheer squad.
Go!
Albert thinks it's a CHARM BRACELET...yes it is.
DING DING! DING DING!
FINAL SPIN: $1,600
Albert: 4 T's ($6,400)
Sarah: M ($1,600) (I'M BETTER...)
Alicia: 2 H's ($3,200)
Albert: 2 E's
I'M BETTING THE HOME ON IT doesn't make much sense, Albert.
Sarah: 2 N's ($4,800)
And Sarah's guess of I'M BETTING THE HAND ON IT isn't any better.
Alicia: D
Albert: 3 I's
After initially guessing G afterward, Albert rightly says "I'M GETTING THE HANG OF IT" because he's won the game!
DUD: D (Alicia)
DQs: 3 missolves (Sarah x2, Albert)
FINAL SCORES
WINNINGS SO FAR: $19,200
BANKRUPT TRASH: $15,290
BONUS ROUND:
These fantastic luxuries await Albert...
2003 Mercury Maurader
2003 Mercury Mountaineer
2003 Lincoln Aviator
College Cash ($25K-$50K)...
...or pay off your entire debt ($100,000)!
His co-workers (Morgan Brown & Brianne Adcock) watch him spin to the B.
RSTLNE gives a third:
Contestant wipe is a graduation cap.
BPMA just offers the vowel...
BASIC, DAZED, PHASED and BATTED are definite no-nos. It was a CASHEW, and he won't be driving back to campus in the Lincoln Aviator (that was the one he wanted, unfortunately). His final all-cash total is $10,700.
When Vanna was pregnant with Nico, she had a huge craving for cashews. Turns out that was not a good habit as Nico's now allergic to them.
