February 10, 1998 (Las Vegas Week)

I felt for a moment prior to the SU that a sub-$2K winner with a new season low could have been possible, thanks to the first three rounds, of which R3 shouldn't have been as tough as it should of been since of RSTLNE and CDMAH, only two of those were duds. I'm surprised given how huge 1970s was at the time that this episode hasn't really tuned up until now. Sarah's stint at all 50 states isn't bad, but it still pales in comparison to Animaniacs. Still, a nice job by David for all but securing his spot in the Friday Finals after the BR loss from the previous show. 

I also miss the Vegas of this era, even if I wasn't old enough to gamble at the time. As you can see in the intro, many of the new hotels like the Luxor, Paris, new MGM Grand and New York hotels as well as the then-new Fremont Street Experience as seen in Bonus Land had really helped to clean up the seediness of the town, but before all the LED screens of the 2000s replaced much of the neon. Compare this with future Vegas road shows and you'll see.
