The design for the electronic puzzleboard with the gold spikes lasted from 1997-2003, then it went on to its current neon design. During the San Diego shows that happened in 2003 (if I'm correct with the date), the puzzleboard had parts noticeably missing, particularly at the top and the sides of the board. I've always wondered about this. Why did it appear that way? Were they in the process of taking down the old border with the current neon design at the time? The link below shows an image of the puzzleboard during the San Diego shows. It's really small, but it's the only one I could find. thumbnails.truveo.com/0021/DF/DD/DFDDF0827A2978D64BB1C3.jpg

It could be. I'm not entirely sure.

I personally do not know, but I do remember this happening and thinking how odd it was. It looks altogether akward to me seeing as they left the two small pieces on the bottom left and right of the board. They should've taken those off as well, unless for some reason they couldn't.
And, yes, it is the April 2003 episode.

When I first saw this episode on the air, I thought it was all a glitch from when it first started but it turned out not to be a glitch. My guess at the time was it may have had to something to do with the size of the staging or the studio. Whatever the problem, I was glad to see it fully restored when the show return to Culver City.

I think it was like that for the remainder of the season. The week after back in Culver.

Number one, do not bump threads over 30 days old. Number 2, the board was fully restored after Wheel returned to Culver after the San Fran Trip. The set, as well as the board, went neon in the fall of that year.

Ugh.
Dylan's right...don't bump old threads, unless you have something relevant to contribute. Which you don't.
