A rare treat! The Friday show from John Burgess' 3rd last week on Australian Wheel. He would be unceremoniously sacked in mid-July, the show would move from Adelaide to Sydney, and Tony Barber would replace him for all of 6 months. Intro and car plug are slightly edited.
Some changes for those who aren't aware of this era of Australian Wheel 1) At this point, John "Deeksy" Deeks was not announcing on the show, as he had temporarily taken over hosting on our version of Family Feud, from Rob Brough. That version would be axed at the end of the year (Boy, 1996 was a bad time to be a game show host in Oz!) . Taking over for Deeks, was David Day, a radio announcer at Adelaide's SA-FM. He would leave with Burgess, when the show moved to Sydney. John Deeks would return to the show at the beginning of '97
2) The blue and yellow GOODIE wedge prize is won automatically, you don't need to solve the puzzle to claim it, and it is not lost to Bankrupt.

With a puzzle like JURY DUTY, it was probably the correct decision to start with the final spin.
I'm guessing there might have been a rule change at that time, but under the rules I'm used to (you don't have to solve for the total to count), the winner would have gotten an extra consonant in the Bonus Round.
