From Sony Pictures Studio, it's America's game! We now begin Southwestern Week!
Today's contestants:
Kimberly Thompson: Administrative assistant (also did some bungee jumping), from Kaysville, UT
Darren McCarrell Jones: Health education, also a minister of music at his church; from Oceanside, CA
Linda Patty: Mother of two, from San Gabriel, CA
The top-dollar value on the Wheel is $1,000. Nothing too risky right now - just spin and rack up the money with this puzzle:
Darren solves IT NEVER CEASES TO AMAZE ME.
We'd be crazy to put the $3,500 and Jackpot spaces on the Wheel after Linda's reaction, but we gotta award some more money.
May the force be with you as you aim for the $5,000 space on the Wheel...
Perfection! Kimberly solves JANET RENO NEVADA. That's enough gambling for the day.
BONUS ROUND:

We're always amazed about the prizes we can find, such as a dude ranch holiday at Tucson's Lazy K Bar Ranch in Arizona (labeled TUCSON) worth $3,400.
Let's add even more to our "lovely multi-colored wheel". Wouldn't you want to hit the $2,500 or one-third $10,000 space and solve this "lovely" puzzle?

She guesses DAIRY...which is painfully close. It was DIARY. Now she doesn't want to look at it, but she does it anyway.
After that, the sailboat goes back in the mix. Linda still finishes with $14,600, and she could be back on Friday.
In the post-game, Pat and Vanna admit they felt that one with the bonus puzzle. Vanna says that she kept a diary, but she says someone later told her not to write anything that you don't want everyone else to know.
