Completing the trilogy of uploads - since the Monday show was already delivered to stations and the Tuesday show either already had or was about to be delivered (definitely in the hands of the distributor and too late to edit), the choice was made to edit Friday's show with a tribute to Charlie. As with all shows this week, Johnny Gilbert announces.

Thanks so much for sharing! I’ve been wanting to see this again for a long time...ironically the tribute was the first appearance of the current generic set (the shows would air a month later).

I really feel this was unfair by Sony's part, since when Jack Clark passed in July 1988, Wheel continued to air the reruns for the remainder of that summer with his voiceover intact for the intro, with simply Pat and Vanna doing the newly produced consolation fee plugs.
The Price Is Right and Body Language kept on airing shows announced by Johnny Olsen even after his passing, including the syndicated Tom Kennedy version, where the fee plugs would just be dubbed in by Gene Wood or Rod. I feel this was the wrong choice to do. Even Jack Barry's final few weeks as host of The Joker's Wild which aired after his death in May 1984 aired unabated even though his passing was pretty well known at the time. Since fee plugs by this time were all done separately, a simple "promotional consideration provided by" stock recording was all that was needed.
Speaking of contestants, I entered work nearly three years before this aired at my job with a Krystle, who was also named after that Dynasty character.

Also the episode with one of the most famous solves in show history. Completing the trilogy of uploads - since the Monday show was already delivered to stations and the Tuesday show either already had or was about to be delivered (definitely in the hands of the distributor and too late to edit), the choice was made to edit Friday's show with a tribute to Charlie. Charlie actually died on that Monday, so there was virtually no chance a tribute could air that day, anyway, even though I believe the only pre-7:00 airings of Wheel at the time were at 4:30 Eastern(?) on CBC and 5:30 on WLNY. The technology may have been different back in 2010, but they probably could have put it in Tuesday's show if they wanted to. When Alex Trebek died on a Sunday, Mike's tribute was added on Monday's show since he was already in LA to film it ASAP. Some viewers reported not getting the tribute on their station, so that was definitely a case of, "You already have Monday's episode but here's a revised version with a tribute to Alex. Please download this ASAP if you can." KTRK in Houston, one of the first stations to air first-run J!, aired the version the tribute, but WDIV in Detroit, which airs it at 7:30 Eastern, did not. I remember from Pat's old Twitter that he was at his Maryland home when Charlie died since they weren't taping that week, and he said in a tweet that he was flying to LA to film the tribute and that it would air on Friday's show. I believe that was posted on Tuesday.

This episode is also famous for Caitlin Burke's one-letter solve in the Mystery Round which was a prize puzzle. "I've Got a Good Feeling About This."
