Some of you may have known about Gamestar's Family Feud and Press Your Luck games already, but I just found out at the Game Show Wiki's Wheel of Fortune Merchandise page that Gamestar has launched a Wheel of Fortune game as well (along with Jeopardy!). Previously having difficulties signing up after downloading the Gamestar app, I was inspired to try again and managed to successfully sign up. I'm having a lot of fun with the Press Your Luck and Wheel of Fortune games. The first thing that happens when launching the Wheel of Fortune game is the iconic chant of the show's name is heard as a picture of the accompanying card game is shown.
The Wheel used in the Wheel of Fortune game uses the Round 4 layout used from September 2015 to the end of March 2019 with four differences. One, the red $700 is now blue. Two, the blue $600 clockwise of that $700 is yellow. Three, Free Play is an orange $900. Four the values are in a bigger and different font than the one used on the show.
Landing on Bankrupt prompts the slide whistle sound effect currently used while the Lose A Turn and the cash spaces have no sound effects at all. So no audience cheer for $5000. Despite the presence of three triangles, only the middle one is used with its yellow color while the other two are colored blue. The flipper is black and usually clicks in the wrong direction unless the Wheel is spun the opposite way. When spun the other way, it clicks in the right direction for only the spin after before reverting to the opposite way. There is a spin graphic that is present even as the Wheel is spinning, blocking the Wheel values from being read properly. Finally, when going back from "The Wheel" mode then immediately back to it prompts the Wheel to freeze until you go back to the screen to relaunch the game. Gamestar states that they're still working on some issues such as signing up for Facebook.
The host mode is merely just three sound effect buttons used to (from top to bottom), indicate a letter that's in the puzzle, indicate a letter that's not in the puzzle, and to introduce the puzzle itself.
