Hey folks,
In 2009, what was then known as Wheel of Fortune Lovers was introduced to the Internet. After a first couple years where growth was stagnant at best, Jess and I took the helm in 2011, changed the name to what it is now, and grew the site to what it is today. Over the past 11 years, we've had laughs, drama, fun, tension, and virtually every emotion in between, and we've seen people come and go, but one thing remained constant: our commitment to making this site the top Wheel of Fortune community on the Web. While we've had our ups and downs, and the show itself is certainly in a bit of a down phase, we've kept the ship sailing for you, the community.
As many of you have certainly noticed, my participation in this site has been significantly decreasing as of late. This is no accident. I'm once again working full time after nearly five months of unemployment, am currently in the process of looking for a place for me and my girlfriend to live, and have been dealing with some significant health issues. As such, my time is severely limited, and the amount of time I have to dedicate to this site is minimal. In addition, Jess has also recently secured a full time job, and, like myself, has started to move on to interests outside of BAV. It is time for new blood to take the reigns, and it is time for a change.
We brought kev347 onto the admin staff a few years ago because we felt that he had the passion and the dedication to someday take over the site, and has been training for the role more directly for the past year. Therefore, we feel it is time to finally hand over the day-to-day operations and control of the site over to him. Kev has our utmost trust to lead this site into its next decade, and effectively serve in the role of general manager going forward.
With the changing of leadership comes a couple other staff changes as well. First, any good leader needs a second, so I tasked Kev to think of a person he feels he could work with as his co-leader. After much deliberation, and with our blessing, I am pleased to announce that jjman920 will be stepping into the role of admin, effective immediately. Next, Kev, Jess, and I agree that we need someone younger on the moderation staff. Ideally, we want someone who checks all the boxes: knowledgeable, trustworthy, active, and most of all, having a sense of humor. We are pleased to announce that DPG Host woffan9821 has been promoted into the role of full Moderator.
Jess and I are not stepping down. We'll still be around if you need us, we're here to provide guidance to the new leadership if they ever need it, and we'll still be around to handle major issues. I in particular will be staying around to assist with the eventual transition to Proboards version 6. However, any day-to-day issues are now primarily the responsibility of Kev and JJ, along with the moderation staff. We trust all of you to do the right thing, and we know that Kev and JJ will do an excellent job bringing the site into the future.
