tonyscv caught this promo on KLAS today. Also notice Free Play may be retired, or at least no longer on the Wheel in every round; there's a yellow $900 or $950 in its place.

I truly believe this is a letter toucher tournament until I hear otherwise. I would love for it to be a player one. Don’t get me wrong. That’s the single one change I would (have?) made to this show.
Maggie’s designated role makes me think the idea I had ages ago possibly has merit.

The Wheel of Fortune History Wiki, created in 2011, is a veritable cornucopia of the show's ups, downs, and all-arounds from its conception in 1973 to the present day, with info and pictures you won't find anywhere else.
Did You Know? - Over 240 BAV members have been winners on Wheel, taking a total of over $8,000,000 out the door. Josh Woo has the stats here.

Certainly our first tournament in decades. I have been touting with tournament ideas myself. So I'm looking forward to seeing how this is structured compared to my ideas. Now there's a possibility that the absence of Free Play may only be in regards to the tournament as opposed to regular episodes, and if it is indeed $950 that's in Free Play's place, that could mean something for $750 and $850 down the road as well as $950 being used more often.

This promo is likely airing all week. I caught it today; the only difference was that "Monday, September 13th" was changed to just "Monday".
KLAS airing it last Friday was probably not supposed to happen. Stations likely received it that day and KLAS must have accidentally aired it in place of that day's actual promo. Here is what aired last Friday on WPVI and others:

Although I'm happy that they're FINALLY bringing back the Tournaments game play, it also leads to one other question: Could this be the first step towards reinstating the returning champions formation somewhere down the line as well? I don't know about the rest of you, but if that's the case, I'm still waiting, hoping, and praying for that to happen! In this case, maybe five-day returning champions? As exciting and successful as it was for the three-day champions, where's the harm in doing five-day champions? Lol
