I'm excited to announce our new Recap Team for Season 39! Four people have stepped forward and said they would like to help with the big job, so it will be a team effort this year. mechamind will be doing recaps on Mondays and Tuesdays. logicman27 will be our recapper on Wednesdays and Thursdays. genius2751 will recap episodes on Fridays. woffan9821 will recap the Celebrity Wheel episodes, and will be our substitute recapper. Welcome them all aboard!

You three (not 9821 as he has just as many tricks as me), please PM me if you'd like a possible way to catch the show earlier than when it airs on your station, especially if you watch on the West Coast.

Quick note: If you plan to post on a recap thread before 8PM PT, I highly advise you to mark it as a spoiler.

^ 8 PM Pacific/11 Eastern? There's always been discussion in recap threads well before that hour. I would say anything after 7:25 ET is fair game. Sometimes people just have to explode with excitement or anger at the Bonus Round.

One would think that anyone opening a thread that specifically mentions being a recap of a particular day's show should anticipate that it will contain information about that show, no matter what time of day it is?

That's true as well. Whenever I watch any pre-7:00 airings of the show and have something to say about it before then, I usually put it in a spoiler only as a courtesy. Still, as long as the title doesn't have stuff like "Skunk Threat" or "Let's make up for last night's $100K loss" in the placeholder OP, I'm okay with anything.

The recap section clearly notes that there may be spoilers, so people are warned in advance. Towards the end of my tenure, I was getting the placeholders up whenever I could at work and just leaving them open for discussion at any given time.

Posts within recap threads don't need spoiler tags, IMO, as long as the titles of the recap thread are dates-only and don't mention any spoilers. If you click a recap thread, you are voluntarily getting spoiled.

Yes- the whole point of the recap section is to provide a place where folks can discuss the show that just aired. The description of the section is the spoiler warning. The spoiler tags are really only needed outside of the recap section, and even so they're no longer really needed 24 hours or so after the show has aired.
