Normally I'd run down my thoughts on the episode, but I want to focus on the tribute to Jack (starts at 25:10). Pat's comments suggest this was not only taped within a few days of Jack's death from bone cancer on July 21, but was the first episode to be taped. Jack was on a temporary leave of absence in episodes aired in early May or so, but I have a feeling that was quietly made permanent after his health got so poor that he couldn't even do the replacement fee plugs for nighttime repeats (there's a Season 5 clip around where he does said plugs and sounds almost nothing like his normal self). This is a far more somber tribute to Jack than on the Season 6 Premiere, and definitely more raw in emotion. The nighttime show did the tribute after Round 1, but here it's all of the last two segments (the latter starting at 27:08). I have no idea what the music used during the credits is called.
Pat notes here that Jack loved the show, its crew, and its viewers. Per Mark Evanier, Jack also loved game shows in general, often being tapped to host pilots and runthroughs and happily doing so for little to no money. Jack Clark was, by all accounts, a consummate professional with a lengthy TV resume (both in and out of game shows) spanning over 30 years (the earliest appearance I know of being the existing 1955 episode of Down You Go). We miss you, Jack.

Where is that season 5 clip? Took me a bit to find it, but here (skip to 1:48): Jack's "The prices of the prizes..." spiel comes immediately after the replacement fee plugs and has his usual-sounding voice, allowing for a good comparison.

It’s very sad to hear Jack sounding weak. The network cut the show off at the Mge logo. Maybe a station error?

That's a very generous tribute. I'm guessing daytime allowed them more room to do something like this.
Isn't that piano piece just a segment of "I Remember the Child"?

Not gonna lie, I almost grabbed a box of tissues after the last segment.

We miss you, Jack. Many years later, Jack's death still hurts. I remember him doing the replacement fee plugs and he sounded so weak, i could barley recognize him.
