Monday was the third anniversary of the live taping of Michelle Lowenstein's $1,000,000 win on Wheel of Fortune. Although the episode aired on October 14, 2008, the episode was taped on 8-8-8.
I found this out the day after seeing the episode air over at Wheel's website. I went there to see Michelle's blog. That's where I found out that very interesting fact.
Knowing that it hasn't been won since then, how do you folks feel about this?

Wow, 3 years already? Doesn't seem like it's been more than 2, but the dates don't lie. The sad thing is, one million dollar winner in 3 years is just as many as Millionaire has had in the same time frame (heck, as many as they've had since 2003, and they had to run the Tournament of 10 to give it away the last time).
At least the Million Dollar Wedge has stayed relevant over the 3 years, with a fair number of pickups during play and a few million dollar bonus rounds. Personally, I think they could cut back on the spoiling on MDW pickups and bonus rounds, but the fact there IS something to spoil remains a plus. Hopefully, the million dollar potential remains a productive aspect of play for seasons to come.

Honestly I say one more season and when Season 31 comes into play, take it off and bring back the B/$10,000/B, Suprise, Double Play, new 4-digit money.

8/8/8. That the same day the 2008 Summer Olympics began. XD Anyway, yeah three years & still no million dollar wins yet. I worry they might retire the wedge, remember one episode back in New Orleans where there no MDW? That not the good sign for the next season.

Yeah, we have been pretty lucky to see $100,000 wins many times since. But no $1,000,000 win at all.
In either event, I have a gut feeling GSN is going to pick up the season with the million dollar winner someday for a future acquistion. If I were to hazard a guess, GSN will probably pick up the 2005-06 season before they pick up the 2008-09 season.
