Now it makes sense why they swapped this show to not air on Monday. KABC (an ABC O&O, itself owned by Disney, and the #2 Wheel affiliate) pre-empting a Disney+ promo would have been a no-no. Wednesday was the only logical day to move it to. Friday wouldn't have made sense since they said "coming this Friday", Tuesday probably wouldn't have had time for the segment because of the T-Mobile stuff, and for Thursday, most FOX airings would be pre-empted.

Interesting that they didn't make that closing ABC-exclusive. I know some ABC airings of Wheel have a small Disney+ ad in the bottom-right corner at the top of the show. Regardless, I bet they filmed a second closing in case this episode gets a rerun, especially since Pepe wasn't present for the credits.

After that interview, I was especially hoping that Chris would win something.

I didn't get any of the Triple Toss-Ups this time. I don't know how that happened, especially since FOUR-LEAF CLOVER had a hyphen.

At least I did get the bonus puzzle with RSTLNE, remembering that the last letter couldn't possibly be a G and suspecting a lot of vowels. Then again, part of it is that I remembered GIANT IGUANA was a bonus puzzle once. She probably would've got it with BGHO even though the O seems to be losing its magic.

Recaps will be on hiatus as of May 27, 2024 due to life changes.

Bahamas National Park wasn't the worst guess in the world for TU1. Chris' story about honoring her son was touching.

Very impressive quick solves in the Triple Toss-Up.

I got the bonus puzzle after the G came up, but obviously more help was needed for Nicole to get it.

I had a feeling Pepe was the guest they were teasing on social media. He was pretty funny, but it was a bit long.

Another all-LA episode. Despite that, KABC did not promote Chris on Twitter. Everyone so far this week has been from California, though I believe we may have someone from Kansas City on Friday.

Nicole's last name is actually Hovland. The closed captioning misinterpreted it as "Holand" without the V.

I kinda let the fangirl (or boy) in me shriek out when Pepe showed up in the end. It's been a long time since a Muppet appeared in the studio...

I felt bad for Chris not winning anything, but I think it was the nerves getting the best of her.

BR: I got it when the G was lit up. If only Nicole said those B's...

Normally, this would've been a 5 under this circumstance, but I'm bumping up to a 6/10 for Pepe's appearance.

Speaking about Disney+, I suggest checking out The Ghost and Molly Mcgee (if you do live in the US). If you end up not liking the show, you'll at least get a kick out of the theme song (it's been stuck in my head for about a month now).

Boy, it was the match between Nicole and David.

I was hoping David would solve R1 (and win the Hawaii trip) given he goes camping. But poor Chris. Her missolves didn’t do her any favors, but I was pulling for her. 😥

I got R3 with just the N’s, but I thought TTU1 was POISON IVY. I also got the first word of the BR with no letters and the second with RSTLNE. The B’s (and A’s) would’ve given Nicole a shot, but I’m impressed she nailed the second word.
