The Opener
We begin with the pizza night cartoon.
S23, EPISODE #4447: THE ROYAL TREATMENT
Airdate: 4/18/06
Go!
Chris is way off with THAT'S SOMETHING SPECIAL.
Rachel solves THAT SPECIAL SOMETHING.
Tuesday's contestants:
Rachel Saunders: Nashville, TN. Real estate investor/gospel singer (she began singing at the age of 5 and was the first American teen at the age of 13 to sing at the Great Hall of China).
Chris Hemmick: Claremore, OK. Entrepreneur and sign company owner who's married to Anna with a 10-month-old girl (Zoe). He and his dad enjoy scuba diving in one of the state's lakes.
Derek Schulke: Austin, TX. Recent Texas A&M grad (this past May) who now works for a company that routes out surgical lasers (he travels between Texas and Oklahoma). He also plays the piano for a local church on Sundays.
Pat mistakenly told Harry Friedman that he's from Oklahoma. He's actually from Nebraska (Omaha to be exact). And then he repeats that fact before the 2nd Toss-Up.
Go!
Chris is SOLVING A RIDDLE this time.
WHEEL PRIZE: Sony 60" HDTV & Dream System + 1st season of Huff on DVD (marked SHOWTIME), $4,339
TUES/THURS GIFT TAGS: REED & BARTON, See's CANDIES
PRIZE PUZZLE!
Derek's won a gift tag and he might be served some ROASTED GARLIC SALSA on his trip to MEXICO (El Dorado Royale, Funjet Vacations) worth $5,664.
DUD: H (Chris)
JACKPOT ROUND
Derek finally ends this mess of a round with STAR OF STAGE AND SCREEN DOOR.
DUDS: L (Derek), Y (Chris), B (Rachel)
LOSE A TURN: Derek
BANKRUPTS: 2 (non-Dereks)
LEFT BEHIND IN POT: $11,000
MYSTERY ROUND

If any of you in Orange County are ORDERING CHINESE FOOD FOR DELIVERY, I might be the one handing out your food. Anyway, Chris ends yet another messy round.
DUD: T (Rachel)
BANKRUPTS: 3 (everyone)
Go!

FINAL SCORES
WINNINGS SO FAR: $30,014
BANKRUPT TRASH: $8,600
BONUS ROUND
CHRIS’ SUPPORTERS: wife, niece, parents
SPACE SPUN: 1,000's Digit
RSTLNE gives the last letter:
CHWA gives the first letter...
He guesses A GOOD FIT and A GOOD BIT...actually, the first one's correct! Too bad that impressive feat was worth just the $25,000.
CHRIS' FINAL TOTAL: $41,150 (all cash)
They thought Chris was done when that A was only letter that popped up in the puzzle, and they were wrong. You'll never know what happens on this show...
OVERALL THOUGHTS: Yeah, the middle part was bumpy, but it was countered by a strong finish (in terms of Chris taking the championship with the lowest FS value and his impressive BR solve). Didn't like what happened at the start of R4 (in terms of time constraints), but oh well. This is a light 7/10.
