I remember first seeing the intro of Romania's Roata Norocului on American Wheel's 3000th episode back in 1998, and I loved the wheel used in the intro. Almost 13 years later, I have finally found an episode of Romania's Roata Norocului. One English meaning of Norocului is happiness, and boy am I happy to have finally found an episode of Romanian Wheel! vimeo.com/27758901

Excellent find. I've been trying to find rare episodes of this short lived version of Wheel of Fortune. +1 karma.
I'm shocked they were using the Sqaure puzzleboard that was used in the US version from 1975-1981.

Actually, it looks closer to the late 1990's French board than the 1970's American board to me.
Edited to add: Interesting that there's an effect for repeating a letter called already.

Well if you compare Romania's set to the set to France's set used from 1995 to 1998, they're pretty identical to one another. France made a few changes to their set in 1997, and Romania used France's updated set for their version.

All right. Sorry for bumping this up as well for the double posting, but I have some news, but first off, here are some episodes with Romanian Wheel from 1998, which aired on Pro TV vimeo.com/user8144098Now why would I be bumping this version back up? Well, because it's back! New Roata Norocului episodes are airing on Kanal D! ;D

Yeah I'm inclined to agree. I agree that the wheel looks cool as hell, but it feels kinda distracting to me having that extra "entertainment" factor to it. Now that's not to say our Wheel isn't entertaining (obviously), but I feel the added stuff distracts from the core of the show, which is obviously the game itself.

I found some stuff about the short-lived TVR1 version hosted by Doru Dumitrescu back in March 1997. It's on Dumitrescu's site, complete with a couple short videos. The videos won't offer much, but they still offer some very nice stuff for a start. In fact, one of the things that the second video has is the intro, which has some resemblance to the intro used on the Pro TV version which would start just a few months later. Anyway, here's the site. Enjoy. www.dorudumitrescu.ro/gold/roata-norocului/By the way, for those wondering what those things are at the top of the wedges in the TVR1 version's intro, they're not currency symbols. Despite the quality, I was able to determine that they're diamonds. As I'm planning to recreate the Wheel used in that intro, I'm mentioning this just to remind myself in case something happens.

Also, they play for points, because of the Faliment/10,000/Falimemt wedge.

Yep, they did this a while ago in an attempt to match Moldolva's version a little bit more. I kept meaning to tell you guys this too, but their Wheel now looks like something I can recreate.

They actually played for points when the Revival (Romania) was here, that was when the time Faliment/10,000Lei/Faliment became Faliment/20,000 Cash/Faliment. And I think you already know this.

So basically if you won a round with the 10,000/20,000 wedge, you actually won that in real cash.

Yes indeed. Now a while back but still fairly recently, the show adopted a brand new look and introduced a new element called "Power Play." Someone at YouTube was able to provide me some information on how this works. During a period that lasts one minute, the contestant spins the Wheel while guessing consonants. If he or she chooses an incorrect letter or lands on a penalty wedge during this period, he or she will not lose their turn but rather spin on. If the contestant is able to solve the puzzle before there are five seconds left in the period, he or she will win a cash bonus of 3000 RON (code for new lei). If not, the contestant doesn't get the cash but still keeps the points. If the Wheel is still spinning when time expires, the contestant is allowed to choose a consonant and finish the Power Play period. Afterwards, gameplay continues as normal. Here's a recent episode showing this element in action.
