Hello, Everyone! I've returned once again to discuss & share a new idea for Wheel of Fortune which is more of reinvention of an old game play element from the 90s: The Red Letter Puzzles! So, first of all, ever since the debut of the Electronic Puzzleboard back in 1997, have you ever imagined them doing Red Letter Puzzles with it sometime in the future? I know I have. In fact, I've always imagined them doing Red Letter Puzzle with the Electronic Puzzleboard. And it would be nice if they brought it back, which leads to my idea on how they can reinvent it today! As you may recall, the Red Letter Puzzles originally debuted as a Red Letter Sweepstakes in February 1993. Then, in the Fall of that year until 1995, the Red Letter puzzles became a regular part of the show until it was retired possibly due to the lack of winners. Now, I believe there is a way they can reinvent the Red Letter Puzzles today! Picture this: If a contestant calls the correct letter which may appear in the puzzle multiple times, they're score will be DOUBLED the amount they landed on the wheel if one or more of those letters appear in Red!! Sounds cool, doesn't it?
So, my question is: Do you think the Red Letter puzzles would work more successfully in this new format? Why or Why not?

I don't know if that would make the best idea for a revival. It may be a bit confusing. Australia's version doubled the dough via red letters on their version, and part of the reason why it worked so well is because that version did not multiply the values by the amount of letters in the puzzle.
The UK version had a red-background Cashpot letter that worked similarly to our nighttime Jackpot. Perhaps if we used such a concept, maybe if a contestant found a red letter and solved immediately afterward, they would double their cash winnings.

I'd go for a flat cash bonus for a "red-letter" Cashpot prize. I'd say $5,000 (or more), and at least it doesn't depend on the spin.

A very good idea. By the way, how would you feel if it worked similarly to the nighttime Jackpot (or maybe more like the Jackpot in Sony's online PC games) where it started at $5000, increased with every value spun, and won by correctly solving immediately after choosing that letter? Just to build onto what you got there, mechamind.

There needs to be a good reward, and $5,000 is the lowest amount that would make sense. jarvisabrodie89 - The $5,000 or more would be available when the letter is revealed, but ONLY if the contestant opts to solve immediately (like the Jackpot prize, except you only get one chance).

You know, that's primarily where I got the idea from. Plus, with our version, now that wheel has more money than it did back when Australia's version was doing it, the contestants will have a better advantage should one or more red letters appear in the puzzle. In fact, come to think of it, each Red Letter in the puzzle would be worth an extra $2,000 with no strings attached. Lol. All they have to do is solve the puzzle later without striking a Bankrupt before they do.
