Hey everyone. I've been on this forum for Wheel of Fortune fans for a couple years now but haven't yet written my bio in this section so I figure I might as well do it now.
My name: Joshua
My age: 26
My hometown: Houston, Texas
My city's Wheel affiliate: KHOU Channel 11 (Has been the syndicated nighttime Wheel's home here since 1986)
When I got into WOF: I can't pinpoint exactly when, but definitely when I was little as I remember watching it at my grandparents house at a very young age. I liked it enough at a young age that my mom got me some Wheel merchandise including the 1998 Hasbro Interactive PC game, and the Wheel of Fortune Jr. handheld game from Tiger.
Favorite era of the show: Anything up til June 6, 2008 (the end of Season 25), as I think the Million Dollar Wedge was a big jumping the shark moment for the show and when it started to lose it's luster. Although I am interested in seasons 26 and 27 as those were the last two full seasons Charlie O'Donnell was the announcer and also feature the transition from Free Spin to Free Play.
My favorite TV show genre: Game shows (of course!), but I also love sitcoms, old newscasts (as they are a great source of history), and I also have a soft spot for of all things infomercials.
Other game shows I enjoy besides Wheel: Jeopardy!, The Price is Right, Family Feud (except the Harvey run with it's overabundance of dirty questions), Match Game, Hollywood Squares, Password, Pyramid, What's My Line?, To Tell the Truth, Who Wants To Be a Millionaire (mainly the original ABC run with Regis, but I also enjoy the original British version with Chris Tarrant), and many more.
Other TV shows I grew up with besides Wheel: Blue's Clues, Sesame Street, Barney & Friends, Mister Rogers Neighborhood, Arthur (Yes MarioGS, I grew up watching it like you and still love it to this day), The Magic School Bus, Scooby Doo, The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, SpongeBob SquarePants, and The Fairly OddParents.
My favorite sitcom: Seinfeld
My favorite movie: Back to the Future
My favorite video game: Grand Theft Auto V
One more fact about me: I have Asperger's Syndrome and thus, am Autistic.
Before I end this bio post of mine I want to hugely thank wheelfan82 for sharing his massive collection of classic Wheel episodes as it has got me back into the show after losing interest after Sony began cracking down on YouTube uploads of the show in 2011. Also special thanks to Lucas Cox and jarvisabrodie89 for helping him upload them.
