I already did a thread on the Wheel of Fortune set evolution, so I decided to do a thread on the evolution of the Jeopardy set; I'm also fascinated with the Jeopardy sets as well as the WoF sets. And, last but not least, what's your favorite Jeopardy! set? (1984-1985) - redesigned Jeopardy! logo crafted out of red neon tubes (1985-1991) - light blue and gold neon bordering, neon in Jeopardy logo is white, then changed to gold in 1986; lights atop contestant lecterns (1991-1996) - grid set (1996-2002) - sushi bar (2002-2009) - boxed theme set; modified in 2006 when Jeopardy! was broadcast in HD (2009-present) - CES set Of course, there were the travelling sets from the sushi bar and boxed theme set eras. Here's one of the traveling sets Jeopardy had when they first went to Las Vegas back in early 2001. As you can see, this one here looks a lot like the current set.

Metal grid, without question. That thing was awesome. The intro used during that era was really cool, with the globe moving in from the board to the center of the frame, then "blowing up" with the set lighting up. Also...it changed colors during Double Jeopardy!
My second favorite is the sushi bar. Loved those giant sliding doors!
I'm not crazy about the current set. It's too dark, and outside of the main set features, the backdrop is nothing but a blue curtain...it's not very interesting...

Personally I like the "grid" set (yay for nostalgia) the most and the "sushi bar" set the least. I don't see a problem with the current set, though.

1985-1992, 1996-2002 sushi bar, and the grid set.

I kinda like the 85 & 91 set, I grow up with those sets. Now they need to bring back the neon logo!

As with the Wheel thread, my favorite sets are the ones you failed to mention -- the 1964-84 ones, for the same reason I like Wheel's original set.

My favorites are the grid and sushi bar sets.
However, I never got to see how far the doors went when they opened--I thought they'd be sliding all the way, like on Price.

I actually LOVE the boxed set more than any other one.
