Wheel coming to United Arab Emirates January 23

Just watched the premiere. It is pretty much identical to our version aesthetically, down to the camera angles, but it has a slightly slower pace, so it's an hour long.


The US SFX are used and the 2017-21 music package, although the Toss-Up solve cue is used for main round solves and vice-versa. A sad guitar sting is used for Lose a Turn hits.

Only the first two Toss-Ups are played, worth 500 and 1,000 SAR (Saudi Riyals). There is no third or Triple Toss-Up. Whoever started R1 starts R4.

There are no round gimmicks like Mystery or Prize Puzzle, and the game appears to end after R5 is solved. There was no Final Spin on the premiere. The first commercial break happens after TU2 since the interviews are pretty long. There is no break between R1 and 2.

The Wheel values range from 100-500 SAR for R1-3. There are two 500 wedges in R1-3. Starting in R4, one of the 500's is covered with a second Bankrupt, and Free Play is moved to another spot, revealing a new TDV of 1,000 SAR in its former spot. Vowels cost 250.

Free Play survives in this version. Vowels award and cost nothing, while consonants award 250 SAR each.

The Wheel has one Bankrupt and two Lose a Turns to start. A second Bankrupt is added starting in R4.

At least three Gift Tags are used, likely four. One was won early on so I don't know yet if one of the later tags is meant to replace it. For spendable cash, they award whatever amount they are sitting on. One is on the Wheel to start. A second one is added in R3, and two more are added in R4. At least the first one is worth 1,000 SAR, but the latter two are physical prizes worth 3,000 SAR. If any Gift Tag is lost to a Bankrupt or round loss, it goes back on the Wheel in the next round.

One of the Bonus Round prizes is 30,000 SAR, and the Bonus Wheel has no symbols.

Here are the Wheel layouts for Rounds 1 and 4. On the premiere, the Gift Tag over the purple 150 was won in R2. The tag over the blue 200 next to LAT was added starting in R3, while the other two were both added in R4 as 3,000 SAR prizes.
