Ever since 1988, I think Wheel of Fortune did several road trips to New York City. I know the "group of pill-pushers" incident was included in the 1999 NYC road trip, if I recall.
What I'd like to know is, during what seasons (year range) in the 1990s did WOF do a road trip to NYC?
Reason why I ask, is because I am figuring out why GSN chose not to lease one or two separate seasons from the 1990s. If NYC road trips is the reason, then I guess it's safe to say that those seasons that contain NYC road trips contained scenes with the World Trade Center - a bad reminder of the horrific events of September 11, 2001.

They seasons they went to NYC so far are:
Season 6 (1988)
Season 17 (1999)
Season 21 (2003)
Season 25 (2007)
I'm pretty sure there were no 90s trips besides '99.

FYI, the last time GSN regularly aired Wheel they aired a season from the 90s (either 1994 or 1995 I believe, I don't remember which one exactly), but there was no New York trip that year. I attended the taping of the last two episodes of the 1999 New York trip fwiw.

GSN last reran the 1994-95 season regularly (Season 12), and before that, the 1988-89 season (Season 6).

Yes, and GSN was presently showing the 1988-89 season around the same time 9/11 occurred, if I recall.
Clarification, please: What year did GSN pick up the 1988-89 season? My guess is 2001.
