So who knew that when she was 11 years old, and they met years ago at a little hamburger stand (as Pat says) that here they would be, and Lisa would be $100,000 richer?

I can talk about the BR and how cool it was that knew that off the draw, but I want to talk about what happened earlier.

I'm glad we finally got a non-generic Show Biz, though I wish it was someone who was more current than the entertainer they chose.

R2 was disappointing for everyone. Yes, Yellow shouldn't have called the V that early or made that missolve and Red probably should've known the puzzle at that point. But I blame the writing for not going with the more current choice. There's no reason to not pick the other answer when everyone was talking about that show and in the people's minds.

The puzzle writing has been needing help for a while and those two puzzles help show their shortcomings. It's good to be topical and pop cultured.

Okay, if you're going to bring up recent events, please provide specific details. There are plenty of shows with people in them, and some of them have sparked controversy, game shows included. If you don't want to provide details, it might be better not to comment about it at all.

Another very heartwarming moment. Lisa meets Pat while she's only 11 years old...and fast forward to now, when she wins the $100,000. There's only one way you can do better than that, but the odds of doing so are astronomical.

I was thinking the last part of the round 2 puzzle was Tiger KING also, though I get why they went against doing that.

Great solve by Raivyn in the Speed-Up, it was nice she was able to get some money after hitting all those Bankrupts.

Very easy bonus puzzle, I knew it right away also. I'm surprised Pat didn't comment more on her picking the V, though he did later say he just thought she knew Vultures and was uncovering the V and happened to get lucky with another V. Another $100,000 winner! Way to go Lisa!

All right, where to start?

TU2: COTTON BOWLS is a nonsense answer based on the category. Joe's misfire earns Lisa to be the first spinner.

R1: I got this one with the S. Silly repeated puzzles (which is why the show needs to go in a more modern direction) making it way too easy. Our Orange Countian never looked back after that $2,500 spin and banked big time (though I wish he would've said the N's on the last spin).

R2: Now that I think about it, TIGER KING wouldn't be appropriate for the show. The Orange Countian falls for that answer...and apparently, the ladies don't have a clue about the flower in question, leaving Joe with a successful rebound.

Then again, it gives a feeling that knowing modern pop culture on this show will punish you...can we fire some of the writers, please?

R3: Joe uses that Wild Card he got in the last round to pick up an extra $3,500...but not being careful caused him to repeat the E, eventually dooming him in the end. Lisa closes in with the Costa Rica trip.

R4: As expected, it's a full Speed-Up. Raivyn taking in one more solve earns Lisa (who met Pat at a restaurant) a spot to play for potentially $100K.

BR: VULTURES would've been too easy. Adding the word FLYING in the middle would've not fit in 2 rows, so it kind of leaves in an awkward middle position. That didn't stop me and Lisa from RSTLNEing it...and scoring some big bucks in the latter's case! Way to go!

Great to see another big win...but all of the usual problems only tap out to an 8/10.

The unclaimed Hawaii trip was to the Volcano Village Lodge.

I thought Joe would run away with our kickstarter to B&B Week, though he made some questionable errors. But Raivyn impressed me with her solve in the Final Spin (even though I knew it with just rhe R’s).

I solved R2 with the T’s and E’s but thought TTU1 was COOKBOOK with the K. However, I RSTLNE’d the BR just like Lisa, and thank goodness she did for the big one! It sure was a full-circle moment for her given her backstory.

By the way, Lisa’s top matched the $1M wedge.

My rating: 8
