As most of you know, Season 36 was the last time that the College Championship and Teachers Tournament were held. And last season, only the Tournament of Champions was held because of COVID-19 travel restrictions and the rotating guest host format. But this season, we saw the inaugural Professors Tournament back in December 2021, and now the National College Championship is airing in primetime on ABC (features 36 players instead of the usual 15, the winner takes home $250K but does NOT compete in the ToC). The most recent Teen Tournament took place in Season 35.
This brings me to my questions.
1) Is the Professors Tournament replacing the Teachers Tournament?
2) Will the College Championship from now on be a primetime spinoff or will it return to the syndicated series?
3) And will the Teen Tournament be resumed sometime?

If this is going to become standard, they may need to space out the shows a bit more next time around. Twice a week is okay for prime time, but four times a week is too often.

Looks like you can add a "Second Chance Tournament" somewhere into the mix. Michael Davies announced it today. |

Also as cool as it is, the Second Chance Tournament screams "oh shit, we're now realizing that the field for the next TOC is rather light in number and we better get more entrants now that we've committed to doing it in November"... /not that the TOC field is light in quality mind you, it's stacked, but when you have multiple superchamps that doesn't allow for a lot of champions... |

While I agree with this, keep in mind the reason they're probably doing it this way is so that ABC has filler programming opposite the Olympics. |

It was confirmed that the winner of the National College Championship will indeed get a berth into the Tournament of Champions. Which source says that? I saw a Q&A about the NCC on Reddit and it said the winner doesn't play in the ToC, but maybe that is inaccurate. |
