Ladies and gentlemen, the federal government has asked me to announce that during the next 30 minutes, there will be high-level testing by the military from North America. They ask that you refrain from using your clickers while reading this recap. After you've finished reading, you can continue on with your normal stuff. Thank you and enjoy.
S13, EPISODE #2521: SALUTE TO THE OLYMPIC GAMES
Airdate: 5/27/96
This week uses the Friday Finals format.
Opening up the week:
Melissa Hubbard: Golden, CO (met at a contestant search at Lowes Giorgio Hotel). Attorney at an investment banking firm specializing in the cable industry who's also a golfer and a skier. Has a 6-year-old son (Mark).
Damon Waring: Studio City, CA. Director's assistant/print model/writer who likes to read.
Susan McGinn: Omaha, NE (but she was surprised by Carol Schrader at Channel 7 about being on the show). Physical therapist who's married to Jim with 2 kids.
Susan solves GENEROUS TO A FAULT. And suddenly, my copy cuts to black a few seconds after the solve.
1ST PRIZE ADDED TO WHEEL: Forever Resorts unique houseboating vacation on the Lake of the Ozarks (marked HOUSEBOAT), $4,295
R3 layout used.
Damon thought about solving after calling V, but quickly changed his mind. Thankfully, it worked out for him.
Damon puts this round out of its misery with a HAND-WOVEN RATTAN BASKET. He initially pronounced the second A in RATTAN with an E sound, but corrected it, giving Harry the thumbs up.
No 2nd prize on wheel.
Melissa remembers MARLO THOMAS STARRING IN "THAT GIRL".
