What a night for Joya-Dean, starting with the $2,500 hit calling the same letter and then hitting the trip with her spin in round 2.

Too bad she didn't solve the bonus puzzle though. Picking the G actually would've been great to do tonight.

These first 2 episodes of college week have been great. Joya-Dean absolutely killed it tonight. That was a great start by her in Round 1 with those 5 S’s on $2500 plus an extra $1000. The letter I was evil to her but luckily the turn came back to her and she claimed it.

Michael bankrupted $7100 in Round 2. I completely see why he wanted to spin there though. He must have wanted to add double the amount he landed on to his score with those 2 D’s but instead got a bankrupt. That later led to Joya-Dean going on a tour of Spain and boosting her already incredible total

Gotta agree that this week's going great so far! Well, except that we can't get any BR wins.

Joya-Dean absolutely cleaned up starting with that $2,500 hit in R1. Her PP solve impressed me as well (even though I got at the same time as her).

I'll assume that Michael was unfamiliar with the movie in R2 (even I didn't know that video game franchise had a movie). His misfortune that round caused Joya-Dean to pick up that collette vacation.

Unfortunately, things went downhill once the bells rang off and everyone started crapping out (A HERO IN THE MARINE when the E and R is already up? Come on...).

Speaking about that, Sami actually made 2 bad final spins since she's obviously too weak to reach $650 in one spin and too strong to only make it halfway around (her natural spinning strength is .7 revolution). It would make sense that she hit the Lose a Turn first and the Bankrupt near TD second.

BR: RSTLNEd it. Unfortunately, the pressure finally caught on to Joya-Dean and the second prize goes unclaimed.

It's really disappointing to see a lot of contestants lately do so well in the maingame, yet fail to solve a bonus puzzle that isn't even that hard. Joya-Dean said in an interview that she, like many, picked WAYD? because she thought the guaranteed -ING would be an advantage, but it has the worst W-L percentage of all the categories played this season.

Here comes WIDEN THE GAP as a Phrase in 2024.

I solved R1 with just the Same Letter and no-lettered TTU2. But A HERO IN THE MAKING? I’ve never heard of that phrase before. (By the way, I noticed very little theming in the puzzles this episode. Interesting.)

Again, I solved the BR with RSTLNE. The obvious G would’ve given Joya-Dean a shot.
