They disabled registration on the Jeopardy! forums, so I decided to ask here instead:
1) Who is the woman pictured next to him? I'd imagine she was a production staff member, since she is in both photos.

2) Was an error in the episode count made? Sounds to me like it was. From what little there is to go on, the 2,000th episode aired on February 21, 1972, and #2574 aired on April 24, 1974. If there hadn't been any preemptions, it would have been #2567.
When the Pilot and audio fragment of the premiere episodes resurfaced, it got me interested.
