Wheel Of Fortune! Where one spin of the Wheel could twirl you into some fabulous fortune.
Spin it around and go around the world, to Singapore, Sydney, the Barrier Reef, and Honolulu!
Today's contestants are:
Denise Worthy: Mother of one and a student nurse at Sunland District General with no time for hobbies; from Washington, Tyne and Wear
Scott Wilson: Works at a Sheraton Hotel in Edinburgh as a conference/banquet coordinator, is single, and into films (he really likes Amadeus)
Beverly (last name not given): Medical clerk/officer; loves tennis, reading, meeting people...and Nicky is the most famous person she met; from London
The top value on the Wheel is 1,000. Perhaps we should've made our BANKRUPT space red so that Denise won't hit it. We'll see how she spins with our first puzzle:
We cause the usual controversy with a second BANKRUPT, but we could make up for that with a second 1,000 space. Carol powers up the Wheel with a portable phone, with the token going on 200. This puzzle shouldn't be too controversial.
Were you expecting a third 1,000 space on the Wheel? Actually, you probably were. Did you think we'd bring in a pair of pure silk dressing gowns? Where will the token go? On top of the 700. Now for a slightly longer puzzle:
The original Nicky must remind us that it's time for the speed round! He'll give one last spin, and consonants are worth 500. Denise starts!
Denise: D (500)
BONUS ROUND:
SNTRLI leaves every other letter untouched.
Wheel Of Fortune! Where one spin of the Wheel could twirl you into some fabulous fortune.
Spin it around and go around the world, to Singapore, Sydney, the Barrier Reef, and Honolulu!
Will a £4,000 Jackpot make your head spin?
Or spin a few more wheels with an Austin Rover Metro City!

Denise admits that even though she wants to win a car, she failed her driving test after going through a red light. Nicky says it happens to the best of people.
And yet the audience only groans when Beverly admits she hasn't met anyone else but Nicky.
Finally, as Nicky has figured out...Scott poisons people, Beverly checks them in, and Denise cures them.

Amazingly, Denise instantly solves BACON AND EGGS.
Even for a speed round, she didn't give us much time. Fortunately, we're still ready with a toddler's bunk bed and desk unit, an outdoor play set including trampoline, and a 10-inch portable colour TV.
Denise finishes with the bedroom furniture.
And somehow, despite winning all the rounds, Denise did not win the game.
(She was also shorted 100 points, though this does not affect the final standings.)
