Wheel Of Fortune! Where one spin of the Wheel could twirl you into some fabulous fortune.
Three seniors are playing with us!
Mrs. Anne Dornen: From Plymouth in Devon...and had the company of two drunken Irishmen who were "very, very naughty" until she told them off at Preston Station.
Henry Kelly: Party animal and an M.C. at lots of children's parties and business parties, and used to do some dancing; from Glasgow
Ella Snaith: Married for 40 years and is a mother of three and grandmother of four, from Newcastle upon Tyne
The top value on the Wheel is 1,000, and somebody will have to tell it off if it stops on BANKRUPT. Will that make it all better? There's only one way to find out as we start our game...
Question: Which ex-Prime Minister is quoted as saying "You've never had it so good"?
Ella: Harold Macmillan (Correct!)
Things just got naughty with a second BANKRUPT, so we'll make it nice with a second 1,000 space. The always nice Carol has a faux fur coat for us, and Nicky has a token that goes on 250. Do you give a damn about this puzzle?
Question: What does a philatelist collect?
Ella: Stamps (Correct!)
Ella probably just wanted to get to the third 1,000 space and doubled points. Carol suddenly has to offer us a gent's Swiss watch! The token will be placed on 450, and the next puzzle is:
Question: "We never close" was the slogan of which theatre?
We won't say too much, but we will be adding a fourth 1,000 space to the Wheel!
Question: In Mrs Dale's Diary, what was James Dale's occupation?
Anne: Doctor (Correct!)
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
Even with some fast rounds, Nicky still has to give the Wheel a final spin. Consonants are worth 1,000 doubled.
Anne: F (Repeat)
Henry: R (x3) (6,000)
BONUS ROUND:
Anne is shaking like a leaf! She's under pressure to win one of these prizes:
A trip to Bangkok, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Bali
A £4,000 Jackpot
A Vauxhall Nova
Anne picks the car. Will she have to tell off this puzzle?
KRTMNE gives her a bit of help with each word.
