One of the venues hosting Wheel of Fortune Live! has posted the official rules document for the show, detailing the gameplay and its differences (which isn't much) from the show.
Here is the full document. Much of the rules are lifted directly from the show's rules packet, especially the section about solving the puzzle. www.dominionenergycenter.com/assets/doc/WoFL-Official-Rules-5.16.2294-bde8547b55.pdf
And here is a summary of how the show will work:

I am very impressed with how close this will be to the real show while still giving more than just three people the experience. Counting Toss-Ups and the Bonus Round, a typical show should have a total of 26 puzzles.

And here is a summary of how the show will work:
- Attendees wishing to play as a contestant must solve a sample puzzle with more than half the puzzle revealed
- You are ineligible to be selected if you have attended 5+ shows or have been selected once within the past year
- 15 potential contestants are called on stage and divided into groups of 5 for three "Audition Rounds"
- Audition Round: Each group of 5 plays three Toss-Up puzzles to choose three participants each for three "Main Rounds"
- Main Round: A full maingame of WOF, with one opening Toss-Up and a minimum of three rounds with a Final Spin
- All maingames are played for points. Only the Bonus Round is played for actual money.
- Each Main Round's Toss-Up is worth 1,000 points and the right to start. Vowels are 250 points, and ties are broken with another 1,000-point Toss-Up.
- The player with the highest total at the end of the Main Round earns a spot in the Final Round
- Final Round: One final WOF maingame with the three Main Round winners. The winner of this round (regardless of score from Main Round) advances to the Bonus Round
- The Million Dollar Wedge is replaced with the "Big Money Wedge" (not THAT one), which is a progressive jackpot that increases each show it's not won. If the Bonus Round player is carrying the wedge, the Big Money jackpot replaces the default Bonus Round top prize (which is not specified).
- Wild Card is available in each Main Round and is removed after R2.
- Express Wedge is used (1,000 points per consonant), but only in the Final Round (apparently during all puzzles).
- Winners of Main Rounds carry Wild Card and/or Big Money Wedge to Final Round if they claim either, and both are still vulnerable to Bankrupts. This means multiple players in the Final Round can be holding a Wild Card and/or Big Money Wedge.
- The Gift Tags or "Goodies" are used and represent "minor" physical prizes. The puzzle must be solved to claim the prize.
- A Trip Wedge is available in Main Rounds as a "major" prize. In order for the trip to be won, a player must claim the wedge with a solve, then go on to win the Final Round. The Trip, if carried over, cannot be lost to Bankrupt in the Final Round (but the Wild Card and Big Money Wedge can).
- Physical prizes do not have any effect on score, like on Wheel 2000.
- Mystery Wedges are NOT used in WOF Live!
- All audience members are divided into red, yellow, and blue groups (just like Tattle Tales) based on a colored token they receive after registration. Various audience minigames are played, and certain Main or Final Rounds will be followed by that round's winner's color group winning a small prize worth <$10.
