From Sony Studios, it's America's Game!
WHEEL OF FORTUNE
AFRICAN SAFARI
EPISODE #2463
Here are today's contestants!
Liz Schoff is from Raliegh, NC. She's going to Meredith College. She's a senior studying nutrition. Outside of class, she loves the outdoors, including fishing.
Suzanne Sload is back for her victory lap. She's from Rockville, MD, and she's already won $98,777. She shouts out her uncle Johnny.
Shira Warren is from Hercules, CA. She's engaged, and planning to get married in the summer of '97. She works for a major bank in Oakland, CA.
Wheel is FAMOUS THE WORLD OVER, and Liz has $3,550.
Round 2 adds a trip to Merv Griffin's Players Island Resort/Casino/Spa in MESQUITE, NV. The excursion is worth $2,621!
LADY LIBERTY HOLDS THIS IN HER RIGHT HAND, solves Suzanne. Does show know what it is though?
Yeah, it's a torch.
I really don't like this puzzle, but Suzanne solves PUPPETEER SHARI LEWIS WITH LAMB CHOP for $3,600.
distracted 9821 note: This implies that Lamb Chop is at the very least, less than a person, which I agree with, but even treating Lamp Chop as an additional thing is awkward. You wouldn't say something like MICHAEL PHELPS WEARING A SWIMMING CAP, or closer to the point, JIM HENSON WITH KERMIT, and that's kind of what this puzzle did. I know that Shari is famous because of Lamb Chop, but eh. Maybe I would have done LAMB CHOP CONTROLLED BY SHARI LEWIS as Fictional Character?
There's a trip to ENGLAND on the wheel worth over $10,000.
Suzanne is slowly but surely building up her lead with a RASPBERRY PARFAIT.
DING-DING! DING-DING!
So, there's time for another round, but not enough time to give control back to the contestants. Vowels worth nothing, consonants worth... $5,000!
Suzanne: S (x2 - $10,000)
Shira: T (x2 - $10,000)
Liz: R (x3 - $15,000)
Suzanne: A
Shira: L (DUD!)
Liz: N (x2 - $25,000)
Suzanne: D ($15,000)
...that must be a pretty expensive ARTIST'S RENDERING for Suzanne if it gives $15,000!
Suzanne is in shock that she's won $121,027 so far. She also has the opportunity to do a little more damage before retiring!
The home theater, African safari, and cash remain. Out of EEL, Suzanne picks L.
RSTLN E give...
MCD A give...
...and abracadabra! Some MAGIC TRICKS net her the HOME THEATRE. It's part Thomasville with Phillips electronics. It's worth $16,200!
Suzanne retires with $137,227 in cash and prizes! Her sister and brother-in-law come down once more.
Pat jabs at the fact that they wore their lucky outfits three days in a row.
Pat Chat: Vanna mentions tomorrow is Leap Year Day. Pat reminds the audience to set their calendar ahead one day before they go to bed.
