From Sony Studios, it's America's Game!
WHEEL OF FORTUNE
Wheel Across America / Olympic Games Sweepstakes Week 1
EPISODE #2506
Here are today's contestants!
Mark Brieitenberg is from Venice, CA. He's a freelance story analyst who won $8,700 cash! Since his last appearance, he's published his own book: Anxious Masculinity, based off Shakespeare.
Carl Mueller is from Los Angeles, CA. He's a woodworker. He has a two-year-old daughter Claren.
Sonja Hayden is from Houston, TX. She's a full-time student majoring in healthcare administration at Texas Southern University. She also works for an advertising group, and is also engaged to Michael Hall.
The OZARKS trip is added to the Wheel during Round 1, because we're in sweepstakes mode. This week, and probably the next couple, follow the three-round format.
Carl is going to have HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE when it comes to the later rounds.
Oh gosh, they're going to do an Olympics plug for buying an Olympic Wheel of Fortune T-Shirt. Holy crap, ew. That's a full minute ad.
And another ad for a home giveaway? Should I recap this? 1900 prizes, and a grand prize of a Ford Taurus worth $23,445. Also, that meme $4,412 Atlanta trip gets to go to 21 viewers, or 125 weekly Zodiac watches for $215, and 500 people will get a $95 pair of Ray-Bans. One has to get three of the five weekly solutions right to be eligible for a prize.
For the record, the red letters are red on top, and blue on the bottom, but these are Red Letter Puzzles, so I've just made them completely red.
Carl can enjoy a lot of beverages from a COIN-OPERATED VENDING MACHINE with $6,900.
If you care about the quarter-century old giveaway, here's the filled-in board. They also hint that unscrambling the letters gives something Olympics themed, like you needed that extra hint.
I'd really enjoy a WHITNEY HOUSTON ASTRODOME, just like Carl will enjoy his $400.
DING-DING! DING-DING!
We just don't have time. Vowels worth nothing, consonants worth... $200.
Carl: H ($600)
Sonja: C (DUD!)
Mark: D ($1,800)
Mark avoids getting shut out thanks to a BLUE DENIM SHIRT.
Mark leaves with a 2-day total of $10,500.
Carl has a chance to win any of these prizes:
A Windstar worth over $27,000!
An Amtrak trip worth $20,000!
A $28,000 Ford Mustang!
A Winnebago Rialta worth over $41,000!
$25,000 in cash!
New week, new WHEEL. Carl picks the H
RSTLN E aren't going to give a lot...
DMC A... welp. Carl tries GOLD, HOLD, COLD, MOLD, WOLD, COLL, PULL, PILL, PALD, BUILD, BOLD, BILF, and BULGE. A lot of guesses, but he wasn't even in the right galaxy as YOLK. At the very least, it was just the AMTRAK trip. Still, $9,250!
A sound effect is added to Pat throwing the envelope into the air.
Pat Chat: There's so much going on this week! Pat remarks that he remembers when the bgigest problem was if they were getting a large enough shipment of ceramic dalmatians.
Okay, so just recapper note: I'm not going to note any sweepstakes shenanigans from here on out. I'll do the red/blue letter puzzle because I don't know if anywhere else recaps it, but besides that, you're just not going to hear stuff about the weekly giveaways.
